I've watched him since Carolina, and his contract is fine, a bit overpaid rn sure, less than ep..

He's not the straw that stirs the drink, anyone who watched him knows this, so ppl (+BOS) expecting a line driving 1C would be disappointed.
He had nobody to play with in cgy post gaudreau/Tkachuk, and same in Boston so far.

If you can buy low on both players rn (chytil+lindgren) playing on a bad team, and or send junk $ back to Boston, and have offensive wingers for him, your team is definitely better off. Definitely.

What we got was not being tied down to a shit contract.
Let's be real, the problem with our Dcorp is the 2nd pair, mostly Soucy who has been by far the biggest culprit of backbreaking bad plays. He has dragged down every single partner he's played with. Zadorov is a #5 who has struggled his entire career with elevated minutes.
If we had him right now we would still be facing the same issue of needing to upgrade on Soucy but would be stuck with a five million bottom pairing guy.

Between Forbort, Breezer, Brannstrom, the bottom pairing on the left-side isn't any worse than 90% of the league and with Myers playing well enough next to Quinn to allow Hronek to slide down the biggest need is a Soucy replacement and a better option on the right side bottom pair.
Personally I think Willander will be in that spot.

Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like almost every blown lead has been the result of Soucy and Juulson while Hronek was out and Soucy and Myers when he wasn't.

You can't shelter a 2nd pair like a 3rd pair. Don't get me wrong the team overall including the coaching has been to blame but the 2nd pairing has been absolute dog shit the entire year.

Exactly, great complimentary offensive faceoff taking C, that can complement your existing offensive players, and provide reliable plus defense. For a couple mil more than Kuzmenko and taylor hall.

lindholm's provided blueger level es contributions outside of the playoff sample. which isn't insignificant to me fwiw, like i'm not saying he's a 2 million player like blueger.

debrusk is kind of a 3rd wheel offensively to me and at 5.5 we're pretty fine with that contract? and lindholm is a c? but it seems like he's trending to be a 40-45 point center. i don't know. guys maybe a 6 million dollar player right now and that's w/o acknowledging the downside associated with that contract and the term involved.

They've tried him with Pasta and that failed (found chemistry with Geekie/Zacha for christs sake). They've tried him with Marchand and Coyle and Poitras has recently stolen that job.
Now they're left having him anchor the third line while still being PP1. Every time I watch their PP he is very uninvolved and is just a guy in front of the net.

It's a truly terrible contract that he would have had no chance getting without his perception as a "40 goal guy" sticking for this long despite recent history showing otherwise.

He is not anti russian but anti Putler like any decent person should be. Unlike most russians, he has the guts to say it in public. I understand that the russians in russia can't criticize Putler but i have a problem with those living in the west who praise him.
