Seems like the canucks are trying some odd 2nd period long change defender scheme. LS defender comes off, RS defender comes on to replace the RS guy then he changes so LS D comes on? Otherwise why the F have Myers Hronek out there a few times?

That's pretty typical to help the far side guy get off.

Petey probably got away with a trip on that PP goal for us, so let's call it even for that miss on McDavid.

Canucks can't complain about the reffing in this one.

If they don't come out looking like the more rested / energized team in the 3rd it's on them. There's no reason we shouldn't be able to bring this one home given the Oilers schedule.

OK, in terms of their on-ice/field demeanor and behaviour.

There's already one on his team who's just as bad in Divesaitl tbf.

Draisaitl is a surly prick too but he isn't nearly as bad as McDavid to me. Imagine being the best hockey player in the world and just spending your entire life as a lemon-sucking, sour-faced, tantrum-throwing crybaby.

This is why I will always prefer Crosby over this clown. Crosby matured and grew to be likeable as the years went by.

Ronaldo was pretty bad.

But I guess hockey players are supposed to be tougher. We never saw Yzerman, Sakic or Lemieux acting like whiney bitches out there.

They could lose, but if we don't see them work the Oilers' defense corps in the 3rd, somebody please call Tocchet out in the post-game.

If you implement a system your players are unable to execute, change the system, or get gone.

we routinely saw yzerman and especially lemieux act like that

are you kidding me? yzerman was a legendary whiner that all the refs hated and mario literally threatened to quit on more than one occasion because the refs weren’t protecting him enough.

also, google lemieux and kasparaitis

I don't think I've seen a team cry as much as the Oilers. It's actually comical.

McDavid and Draisaitl racing to refs, when things don't go their way:

Yeah, CR7 is probably a legitimate sociopath. I don't consider him an active player anymore, though, really.

Part of the unlikability is the endless whining but he just seems like such a dumb, joyless, miserable person. Draisaitl at least seems intelligent and occasionally funny. McDavid looks like he'd just stare off into space if you told him the funniest joke in the world.

Plus the treatment he's gifted from refs and the way he's rewarded for his nauseating behaviour. It's actually galling to watch.
