Oilers are a train right now.

Like the Nucks, they spotted the other team a 3-0 lead.

But then they came back and won in Mile High on a back-to-back after travelling from Minny and their 3rd game in 4 nights.

Speed kills the Nucks (along with many other things).

Edmonton is going to have a field day unless a miracle happens.
Was gonna post this exact thing.

Podkolzin gets 2 goals and Oilers roll us

Bring back Nils Aman lol Canucks seem to have like a 70% win rate when he centres the 4th line. Another weird one, Canucks have a significantly higher win percentage with a smaller 4th line than a bigger 4th line in comparison to the 1st 3 lines, in other words, Canucks like being top heavy.

Canucks slow, steady descent in the Western Conference likely continues on Saturday.

Oilers are another team that gives you next to nothing, five-on-five, and the Canucks PP coming off a 0-5 showing against the Kings is in disarray right now.

Unless Lankinen returns to his early season form, fans will be dusting off the 2025 draft rankings in earnest after this one on HNIC.

5-1 Canucks. Skinner gets pulled in the first period. Knobhead puts McDavid and Draisaitl together like usual out of desperation to no avail.

I would like to see Sherwood back up on EP's line. In the 15 pts in 10 game stretch, I believe it all started when Sherwood was able to insert his speed and energy on to EP/Debrusk.

As others have mentioned, Suter back with JT/Brock.

I would like to see our top 6 forwards play 2-way hockey.

I smell a win here just like in the Leafs game. Oilers will take us lightly and give the canuck fans false hope that the team si back on track.

One of the most dangerous teams on the rush vs a team that can't defend in transition, and has the 2nd worst rush sv% in the league - I wonder how this one goes!

Today’s Practice
  • Always look for energy after losses and had good energy today
Edmonton Oilers
  • Can’t give them odd-man rushes
Dealing with Emotions
  • When you’re an emotional person, no point yelling at a guy
  • Guys are too tight on the pick and the last thing they need is for him to breathe down their backs
  • His job is to get the team out of the funk and keep their energy high
Powerplay Power Outtage
  • Frustrating because he felt Yogi Slafkovsky had a terrific game plan for the powerplay; Kings are very aggressive on the PK and send three players to the puck carrier; Canucks then get the puck, hold on to it, and don’t move their feet
  • Gameplan is when you get the puck, you attack
  • Would rather see aggressive mistakes
Juulsen
  • Has been dealing with a couple of things; saw a doctor yesterday
  • Thinks a couple days off will make him feel better
  • Doesn’t know if he will play tomorrow; will know in the morning
Mistakes
  • Last couple of games Miller hasn’t been himself
  • As a team, they are pinching at the wrong times; can’t pinch on 50/50 plays and especially without a forward back
  • If you’re at the end of your shift, don’t try an East-West pass
Interaction with Miller on the Bench
  • Wasn’t specific to Miller
  • Told the team, forcefully, that they can’t dive in on plays
  • Didn’t notice Miller moving to the end of the bench
Top Players Not Performing
  • Understands if you aren’t scoring but need the other parts of your game to be clean
  • Can’t give up breakaways; can’t give up easy goals
  • Inexcusable to give up that first goal and not score on their two powerplays
Powerplay
  • Splitting up Pettersson & Miller is about needing freshness; has got stale
  • Over an 82-game schedule you need to try new things
Similarities to When He First Took Over
  • Mistakes piled on mistakes; drives him nuts when you make a mistakes and then sell out creating another one
  • Coaches talked to players today about their experiences of struggling when they played
  • Need to get back to your identity; can be as simple as deciding to be a really good forechecker on a night and that will get your game back
  • Have to go through the process to score goals; good practice, eating habits, shooting the puck when you’re supposed to, going to the net knowing you are going to get hit; those are what will get you scoring goals
  • Can’t go out there expecting the play to stop so you can shoot
  • You hope that this team knows how they have to play
  • Didn’t give themselves a chance yesterday by giving up 3 goals in the 1st period
  • Can’t have a defeated look because it fuels the other team; happens once in a while because we’re all human
Line Combinations
  • Have talked about putting Suter back with Miller & Boeser and playing Sasson at centre

How did we get here. This is really quite sad. We are at late Travis Green vibes. It really feels that way. Losing streaks happen. But some of the stats and the way the team is playing is worse than that.

This is real doom . Not the pseudo doom that some ppl did before. This is what pissed me off about those doomers. The real doom would come. You should have enjoyed the positivity while it lasted.
