GDT: [GM43] Vancouver Canucks @ Winnipeg Jets | Tue, Jan. 14th | 5pm | SNP | M2Breezy Must Be Stopped

  • Work is still on-going to rebuild the site styling and features. Please report any issues you may experience so we can look into it.
Huh? Of Soucy is with Hronek then his is in the top-4.

Regardless, I can’t imagine they’ll put Hronek anywhere but next to Hughes for the first while after coming back from this injury. Hopefully this run of good play from Myers continues on a different pairing.
Hughes is already playing high leverage min with Myers, Soucy Hronek shouldn’t be harder for Hronek.

Felt like there should have been a game tonight. I'll just sum up our efforts on here.

Good

Vector - He's really carrying our asses these days. We would be as active as HF Atlanta Thrashers if he weren't here.

Kryten - He's contributing a lot more. You can see the rapid growth in his development.

M2Beezy - Steady presense. It's truly like he's a bot...

MS - Always a sure bet to attack posts that include Jfresh charts... as he did earlier today.

Bad
No one.

SopelFanThe3rd - How is he still here?

WTF kind of GDT is this? It doesn't tell us if it's the first or last game of the road trip, no info on if a goalie on the team might start or not, I have no way of knowing if Hughes is expected to play. Do you think the jets are playing well? Did the Canucks win or lose their last game? Any interesting tidbits about guys on the roster like, say, Forbort?

Just a real poor showing on this one.

Maybe AI could whip up a good preview. HF Canucks got AI?

yep

late to the thread

@VanJack What do you have for us, chief?
Will the Canucks be motivated against one of the top teams in the NHL? Well maybe they can get juiced up by taking a look at tonight's standings in Western Conference.

If the season ended today, the Canucks wouldn't be one of the playoff teams in the West. But that's what happens when you've won just 19 times out of 42 games.

Calgary, which won tonight and leapfrogged the Canucks, now have 21 wins. The Canucks have exactly one more regulation win than the Kraken, the Ducks and the Utah Hockey Club.

Is it disappointing? You're damn right it is.

@Vector is always the MVP because half my posts are prodding him for eating plain Udon noodles or blaming him for things like The Great HF Blackout of 2025 and he hasn't banned me once yet.

Firmly wields the hammer but shows impressive restraint, a role model for us all.

I only take the piss because you're my favourite, it's my love language.

Back off Vector is mine

A forgotten or rarely mentioned advantage for Winnipeg is the weather.

A wind chill of -31 C, very low humidity.

For warm weather teams the drying out of the mucus membranes does make a difference. Hard breathing can become a little painful. The cold can cause cramping or enhance the chances. Also hits hurt a lot more.
For Winnipeg players they are acclimatized.

Just looking for another excuse if they lose.
Oh ya, Winnipeg is a pretty damn good team to and score every way.
They have huge forwards and while no Sherwood the smallest guys are 6' tall. Once they plant in front of the net they are difficult to move or box out.

Demko's first game in a week and only his 9th of the season.

Hronek rumored to play in this game. You have to wonder what that lower leg surgery was, it sounds a like cartilage procedure. If not major then 5 or 6 weeks is more than enough. Like snipping off a floating piece won't alter muscle tone too much. I would be more concerned about the shoulder recovery. This sounds rushed.
