Pre-Game Talk: [GM43] Vancouver Canucks @ Winnipeg Jets | Tue, Jan. 14th | 5pm | SNP | M2Breezy Must Be Stopped

With Hronek back now is the time to ease him into the lineup on his own second pairing.

Have your two best defensemen on the ice for Eighty percent of the game, instead of forty percent.
Load up in third periods when/if necessary.

Defensive depth suddenly alot better, and improvement costs alot lower.

I am not sure that is easing his way back into the lineup. If anything, it is probably easier for him to play with Quinn, especially the way Soucy has played lately. That said, the pair of Chaos Giraffe and Hughes were excellent against the Leafs so perhaps Hronek will play second pair. I wish Soucy was playing a little better right now.

Yeah I know whatcha mean, maybe replace ease in with force to work, a new second pair led by HRONEK.

Between all the defensemen currently on the roster, putting together TWO solid to very good pairings should not be very difficult.... Especially when one of those dmen is top three in the league minimum.

The leftovers should be able to form an above average bottom pair too, it's not that difficult and seems so obvious.

The win in Leafland has to be a tremendous boost for the boys, and hopefully it's put all the drama/feuding BS into the garbage bin.

A great opportunity here for a season reset...With Hronek back in the fold, and a 1-2 punch of the best goalies in the league.

The Jets game tomorrow will be a good yardstick to judge our team by.

Certainly hope that win has a galvanizing effect. But there's been a few such games I thought that to be the case, only for us to come out and lay a turd shortly after. Hopefully not the case this time.

Should’ve flown into Winnipeg for the game today

Why mess with success?
Not sure why that is a big deal? B2B on Fri and Sat thus, Sunday would be a day off. Probably gave them an off day for the ONT guys to have with family for the afternoon. Likely a later in the day flight to Winnipeg. Thus practice on Monday in Win. Could have opted to stay and practice in Tor first before flying out in the afternoon on Monday as well.

Should be no impact on the game.

Oh, I was just trying to make a joke that they've flown into Winnipeg a few hours before the game since that worked vs Toronto.

Oh, ok. I had heard that the Eastern US was expecting bad weather. Missed that the Canucks had issues from CAR to TOR. Kind of an annual thing now with their Eastern road trips to have weather issues. Buffalo last year, was a rough one too.

Being a Good Road Team
  • Have to be resilient to be a good road team
  • Have been a little bit off kilter this season
  • Consistency is a big thing they are trying to strive for
Adapting to the Roster Changes
  • Players have bought into the structure; help out new guys
  • New guys are really starting to figure out the system
Game Against the Maple Leafs
  • Dealing with the travel was a big step
  • No one complained about the travel or mentioned it
  • Everybody played
Identity
  • Still want to score more
  • Their identity is their play without the puck; got away from it and starting chasing too much
  • Sees an improvement now
  • Need to play fast, score, and be creative but can’t risk the other part of the game
  • Need to get better at the transitional and rush game
  • Jet’s play both sides of the puck very well
Hronek
  • Will be game time decision for tomorrow’s game
  • Had a really good practice
  • Usually talks to the player later in the day after a hard practice
Tomorrow’s Game
  • Optional skate tomorrow

Please let Hronek carry Soucey so we don’t see Juulsen in the top 4. Please.

Huh? Of Soucy is with Hronek then his is in the top-4.

Regardless, I can’t imagine they’ll put Hronek anywhere but next to Hughes for the first while after coming back from this injury. Hopefully this run of good play from Myers continues on a different pairing.
