They need to give Lankinen the mercy hook after period one....Demko needs the work and this team is done tonight anyway. They're not coming back with Hellebucyk in the net.

Make that 19 wins in 43 games. This is a pace that would look bad even in the Travis Green era.

Sadly, coming into tonight they still had their second best points percentage in the past 10 years

Completely outclassed by a team that has dynamic offence vs a team that relies on Quinn Hughes point shots to tip or create rebounds. Almost feels like Quinn is so great driving play that we overly rely on him.

It looked like it was going to be a good back and forth game after the first 5 minutes where the Canucks seemed to be keeping up.

But then it became clear that the Jets are bigger, faster and sharper all over the ice and they took over.

Pretty jarring difference here between a team that can and can't execute plays off the rush.

Pathetic effort by both Pettersson and Debrusk on the 2nd goal and pathetic effort by Miller on the 3rd. After that and the horrible turnover earlier in the period I wouldn't have been surprised if Miller was benched for the rest of the period at least.

When Mike Gillis came on board, Alain Vigneault was a defense first coach. Gillis met with him for like, a solid week, in Vegas and the end result was a total shift in Vigneault’s philosophy to move to an offensive puck possession style.

Allvin needs to sit down with Tocchet and do something similar. This “never shoot the puck” strategy doesn’t seem to be going well without an unsustainably high PDO to make it work.

Am I the only one who's NOT waiting for trades? For the D or otherwise? I've seen people criticize management for not doing anything but at this point who cares? This team has far bigger problems than the D and it's not like it's worth salvaging anyway, at least not until both our top 2 centres get their shit together. I'm more than happy for the team to just play out this rotten season and have a good draft this summer.

It's so nice having competent management, knowing they have to watch this disgusting garbage too.

Something big is happening before tdl guaranteed.

1st goal is ALL Lankinen...a gimme
2nd goal was some awful coverage and bad goaltending. Soucy backs in. Juulsen has no one and was already lost in the neutral zone allowing easy ice and then Lankinen kicks it into the slot and then freezes...like WTF 3 Stooges
3rd goal is ALL on Miller. Easy coverage decision and you didnt want to even try?

You shouldn’t lose your spot due to injure, Demko has fought back from a career threatening injury and loses his rotation spot and why? Because the leafs didnt show up on Saturday. Thats bs. Guys is the locker room cant be happy about this. (Not Saying tonight is on Lankinen)

I don't think it's that deep. Lankinen got a shutout they give him the next one.

That's why I mention Connor though, he's effective without really needing strength, he just hangs around down the middle of the ice and gets open.
Connor is on another level skill wise, he doesnt use strength to succeed but while not big, is strong enough hockey wise and still grown man athletic.

(anti ep)

Lol. Dance is blowing smoke. That contract is a millstone. Would anyone be happy if we picked up another teams player with a 3x3 contact and his current form? If he can't start scoring goals again someone might take a chance, might.

i think all the vancouver media guys talking about hoglander having more value with his contract extension in place is just them doing a favor for management and talking up the player. there's no way anyone is taking hoglander without a pick attached at this point
