So they had no problem doing it last season...how all of a sudden they can't now.

They didn't play run and gun hockey last year. IIRC they recorded like 5-7th lowest totals for both shots for and shots against. They scored a bunch, but they weren't playing firewagon hockey.

This team is absolutely incapable of stretching out on transition both in terms of passing from most of the back end, and in terms of footspeed from most of the wingers. They're also mostly shit at regrouping and picking up their man in transition on D. They're totally unsuited for run and gun hockey.

The Sportsnet post-game crowd is saying it would be 'a disaster' if this team fails to make the playoffs. But would it be?

Tonight you got a glimpse of the kind of team they'd be meeting in the first round of the playoffs. I mean, forget about it.

The way this season is shaping up, what Allvin does at the TDL and in the off-season is really becoming more important than what they do the rest of the way. The need to hold on to their draft picks, and sell aggressively at the TDL.

There's not enough room in the room for both Pettersson and Miller. And they need to dangle the likes of Forbort, Juulsen and Soucy the TDL. There are always teams out there looking at adding playoff blueline depth.

I wouldn't want to be in Allvin's shoes. 😅

I think the season's cooked, folks. They aren't even close to contending. Any time they play a real team, they get their shit kicked in unless goaltending bails them out.

Pack it in, play the kids and try again next year. Injuries and locker room drama f***ed it.

Jets are a good team. But still!!!! this was the type of loss where a team decides if they are contenders or pretenders and make moves based upon that decision

I've seen enough of this guy. One season wonder. Now he's Travis Green.
Brought in to help Miller defensively.
I did hear a fun fact tonight though. If Miller was traded, Tocchet would resign but at the same time that rumour of people in the dressing room being tired of Miller is correct. The dressing is very divided and it's mostly due to the coach.

Looked outmatched in this one similar to the games against Carolina (both), New Jersey, etc.

We are shockingly bad at creating anything offensively off the rush; nobody seems to have separation speed except like Sherwood and skill level of the forward group in general is too low to make plays in tight spaces. And then 4 of 6 Dmen being completely inept with the puck doesn't help.

Only way is to desperately limit chances and/or goaltending stands on its head. Too many individual mistakes in this one to overcome.
