I know Forbort kills penalties. So I suspect that's the reason Tocchet is hesitant to scratch him for Brannstrom, but at this point... who cares? We're likely playing 50 minutes or more 5on5. Which means we have the worse player out there for most of the game.

At least give Brannstrom a game or two and see if he flounders or not.

I don't buy for a second it the JT-EP drama that is causing this, instead the whole team just looks like they are checked out. One game in 25+ games with 30 shots and a bunch in the teens low 20's is just terrible.

Never believed this was an issue either, just another Dhaliwal rumour which blew out of proportion.

Brisebois in for Desharnais means it's not a lefty thing either lol.

Wonder if Brannstrom will ever get back in at this point especially with Hronek returning soon.

Well, going for a long pre-game walk to try and flush out more of the holiday indulgences from my system…..so I have room to load more in while watching tonight….

For the 1000th time, the national media started it, and the former head coach, captain, and reliable vet in Brad have openly talked about it lol

I like Hoglander coming back in to redeem himself but not at the expense of Sasson, so brings speed and tenacity. Dump a cardio player like Heinen for a game.

Also the Brannstrom thing is just hilarious at this point.

I think another lineup decision that maybe isn't getting talked about enough is having Garland over Debrusk on PP1. Rarely do you see a team's leading goal scorer not on the 1st PP... If like ever

I get that Garland is good for entries and retrievals but Debrusk is a good enough skater to help in those regards as well.

The PP looked good when Debrusk was parked in front of the net going for tips and rebounds. Let Hughes put shots on net with Debrusk and Boeser battling in front.

Also gets Debrusk more involved, because if he's not scoring he has the tendency to look invisible for long stretches.

Originally I was thinking two teams coming off bad games should make for a competitive match-up, but with the lineup/deployment decisions I think the Leafs roll to a multi goal win.

Going to get dick kicked by the Jets too so a trade is literally only days away, Ruthervin cannot watch this garbage continues any more than we can.

Half the team didn't show up versus Carolina so they should be well rested for tonight.

Tocchet is clearly anti-Euro. We've seen this how many times now? Has he ever had a whopping boy from North America?

Anyone who says Tocchet and the coaching staff isn't part of the problem needs to get their head out of their ass.

Aye, like with everything it's a situation with multiple contributing factors. Toc is certainly one of those factors. But at this point I myself don't think he should be fired.

Perhaps getting our asses annihilated on national TV would be the last straw, but who knows. Maybe Moleman and Mr. Clean will come out yet again with one of those "we want to see everyone healthy" shit talks.

Oh, the Leafs are starting their 3rd (or 4th?) string goalie. The Canucks have the potential to do the funniest thing

Funniest thing? I agree, it will very funny when we get scored on 8 times in two periods then get shutout.

Hilarious, even.
