How’s everyone doing? I’m out with the wife and having a great night! Don’t cause trouble!

The takeover has begun....

I used to be so confident when we had a lead going into the third last year it was automatic. I have very little faith these days.

To incentivize defensemen to stay above the top of the circles so that scrums don't escalate.
And leave their forwards in a 5v3 scrum where they will almost certainly eat a few shots without the refs calling any penalties?

Basically signing up to have your forwards roughed up for no return.

Thank you for the info though.

Most scrums are just a couple guys halfheartedly face washing out of obligation and everyone else kind of standing around. The defensemen coming down to ceremonially even the numbers forces other guys to grab them and then the whole thing just kind of goes on forever. If your guys are getting abused, then you come down, but it prevents the 90s thing where every whistle around the net drew a crowd and the stoppage took ages and the linesmen are catching sticks and elbows trying to wade through the shit every few minutes.

Bowness highlighting Hughes' play without the puck is the type of thing that the media needs to talk about more.

Especially since so many people on the East Coast don't watch him play and still think he's a bad defender from like 4 years ago.

He's a good defender because of his positioning, speed and IQ.

He definitely is, my only criticism of him is that if he's off just a bit in effort then his lack of physicality can negate those other aspects.

Elliote Friedman saying Canucks are not saying no to any western conference teams for Pettersson/Miller
