OTL also happens to be an old school text emote used by Asian netizens WAY back. It's meant to show a person on the floor with his hands and knees, in great disbelief, a state of shock, or severe distress.

Some variations also include OTZ, orz.

The pattern may be broken over the next series of games.
The last 10 only 2 were vs PO teams.

Canucks might/will spend too much time worrying about Ovechkin scoring.

Washington seems to struggle a bit against non playoff teams the last 10 games.

Last Game
  • Don’t want guys to be down but they need to keep their chin up and face the music
  • You can’t hide from the pressure
  • Only had a couple of minutes of offensive zone possession last game and that’s not good enough
  • There are things that are not good enough and need to address it, as a coach; practice it, keep stating why it’s this way, and make people accountable
  • Hughes gave the team all he had
  • Myers was really good last game
  • Miller had a really good game
  • As a team, they need to get better
Urgency Level
  • It’s always high
  • Need to play the game calm in your head; don’t want people to nervous
  • Didn’t go through enough people last game
  • There’s a group of guys that need to be better; too much time and space given up in the defensive end
  • In the offensive zone, when you have a guy on your back you need to hold the puck and make a play; can’t just throw pucks away
Mistakes
  • It’s not one mistake, it’s that they keep making mistakes on the same shift
  • Goalies are being forced to play post-to-post; need to hold your spot and let a goalie make a save rather than chase and allow for a back-door play
  • Back-door goals are driving him nuts

Group of guys that need to be better and giving up too much space = essentially calling out the entire D core outside of Hughes

Elliott Friedman:

Sources tell me the Canucks might lose in regulation, OT or shootout. They could also win the game.

And the message to Canucks fans is clear - they should be fully expecting any 4 of those outcomes and either one of them could actually happen

This is shaping up as an ugly trip--with the next three against the Caps, the Hurricanes on Friday and an HNIC game against the Leafs on Saturday night.

The scary thing to contemplate is the Saturday game in TO, if Demko still isn't ready to go. If they have to put Silovs between the pipes, they could lose by a converted touchdown.

Jägermeister
Sloe gin
Triple sec
Quadruple sec
Gunk from a dog's eye
Absolut Pickl
Red stripe from Aquafresh toothpaste
Venom of the Louisiana loboto-moth

Mix it all up and stir with a pregnancy test until it turns positive, then serve in a martini glass.

So basically almost every player on this team. They just let opposing teams walk into their zone over the blue line unimpeded and then they get posession just to dump it in, give up posession and change. It’s brain dead and I find it hard to believe that that aspect isn’t on coaching.
