I hate Hoglander and juulsen sofa king much. So much. It's ALWAYS ONE OF THEM. Always.
Idc if it's a soft call it's an obvious call, and again for like literally the 150th time he makes a stupid decision, or the worst decision possible.
Pressbox. Immediately.

Waive juulsen tomorrow, trade Hoglander + for Maata or anyone who can play Defense without it looking like a grenade on fire.

Also where's the coaching?!?!?!
- Where's the improvement to details and effort and starts.
- Where's the Defensive improvements to deployment, coverage, pizzas, turnovers, pinches, etc ..

Juulsen and Vinny to Abby and bring up Mcward and Petty D...get them some playing time..can't be any worse the those 2..
Yes an AHLer who has looked average at that level since he got there and a rookie who has had less than half a season in North America that looked not close to ready 3 months ago at camp.

I'm sure these guys will steady the ship.

In the end, Canucks didn't deserve to win but an ugly way to lose it. Defense is, and this isn't news, terrible. Getting out of their zone looks so labored and mistake prone and play around the net is, at best, plodding. Backdoor plays were open all game.

Good

Miller - don't think he is full speed but his anticipation and puck movement were very good. Really all we had. Game where he showed his skill and potential. If he ever gets his full game back he will be a monster for someone in the playoffs. There should be no trading Miller unless the return is huge. Whatever, psychologically or physically, (likely a combination of both) has been effecting Miller, his fall off in play has been large reason for the teams poor season.

Myers - Myer haters are never going to concede that he is anything else but awful and the source of the team's problems. Fact is, he was excellent in this game and was the best at getting the puck up ice and in defending in his end. Only player on defense with a plus (+2) and the only player to support (or better said carry) other d-men. Too bad the one off the post didn't go in, but that rush was an example of his alert and aggressive play.

Lekkermaki - had that glittering one minute of offensive action that was critical to getting anything out of this game. Didn't really hurt the team defensively.

Bad

Soucy - had some absolutely abysmal shifts. Looks hurt. The Soucy - Juulsen pairing was tied up in thier end all game. Soucy just looked out of it and this was best shown by his lack of coverage around his net. Can see other teams know the Canuck defensive problems and are driving things wide b/c they know that many of our d-men can't cut them off.

Forbert - has no ability to hold the blue line. Montreal could rush the puck into the Canuck zone with ease whenever Forbert ot Desharnais were playing. And when the puck is deep in the Canuck zone, neither one of them can get on the puck, or on opponet, quick enough to prevent a pass or a shot. Slot often is wide open

Boeser - weakest forward. Again useless. Should be traded as quickely as possible and don't expect much back. Rental so could get something. Hard watching him at the moment.

Others

Lankanin - might have won this game if Lankain was playing like he was at the beginning of the season.

Garland - play has fallen off. This team needs Garland to be good but he has been no better than average the last two games.

Hughes - could see he was mishandling the puck at times due to the injury. Give him credit for struggling through the game and being mostly a positive.

Hoglander - not great but contributing more than he has for most of the season. (such as on the first goal). Penalty late in the game was brain dead although the refs should have probably let it go given the way most tof the game was called.

DeBrusk - after his goal woke up and became a factor. Have to ask where was this type of play earlier in the game. Up to 17 goals which, on paper at least, makes his signing a positive.

Team is not playing well and that continued in this game. Continue to pick up points but at this point have to wonder if that is a postive or a negative. Team may be soon at a point where they have to give up on this season and look towards improving lottery odds..

Honestly Forbort at that cap is fine, Desharnais needs to GTFO.

For half the price I think he's pretty much what we had in Ian Cole. Forbort has been a nice pickup for what he is.

They just can't have Juulsen/Desharnais both in the lineup, those guys should be subbing for each other based on who's playing better.

Myers was so close to scoring a beauty tonight. .... just sayin'

I thought Myers was very very good tonight.

I love it when Myers scores, that sucked that he didn't bury that one. But defensively too he was solid. Moved pucks well, played physical.

He has these nights every so often where he plays almost a top pair level game & I thought he was very strong tonight.

I still think this team gets on a heater in the 2nd half. 4-9 In OT. Switch that the other way and the team is 23-12-4. Even something like 7-6 and the record would be 21-12-6.

Get everyone healthy and bring in a few reinforcements and we can ride the underdog role into the playoffs.

I don't think we can wait for everyone to be healthy before we ride the train to HELL.

I would have been a tiny bit less critical had they not blackmailed/guilted Hughes into playing hurt - even if it was Hughes' decision, which I doubt, they should know better than to risk the career of the team's best f***ing defense man since...ever.

What were these idiots thinking?????

Yeah Desharnais is the biggest miss. A project that Foote and Toccher wanted that has backfired spectacularly.

Throw our 1st 2nd and 3rd away to get an LD that can eat like 20-22 minutes and move the puck, get Willander out of BU since Pandolfo is dicking him around.

Management needs to get on this fast, they cannot afford anymore screw ups.

With all these injuries, this team should be playing 2000’s Jacques Lemaire hockey.

Boring as hell but least they have a chance.
Clutch n grab made old time trapping much easier, not to mention opposing forwards on average were nowhere near as skilled or fast back then.

In today's game if your defense can't pass or skate you're gonna have a bad time and that's what we're seeing whenever Hughes or Myers (whenever he's having a good game) aren't on the ice.

They need to send a clear message.

If they still want the season to mean something, they need to fix the team - if deals don't exist, MAKE THEM UP, it is their job to improve the team and they need to do their goddamn jobs.

If they think the season will be a wash, SIT HUGHES. Don't let him get hurt more.

Or else, we will get Rick "Crown Royal Handle" Dhaliwal cause more Canucks drama in the media.

Only caught the first two periods. Thought Montreal was the much better team outside the first 10 minutes or so of the second period so not surprised with the result.

With the way they couldn’t handle the Montreal forecheck they are going to get destroyed by upcoming teams like Carolina.

Brannstrom does basically one thing well and it is the thing this defence is absolutely horrible at. The fact he is still sitting is such a joke.
