CM, the 'decimated by injuries' excuse rings hollow when your team has the 2 best players on the ice: Demko and Miller. There still is a relative advantage on the top end.

And despite the injuries they had this game controlled for 50 min...
I would generously give them 15 mins in the 2nd we controlled the game. The 1st and 3rd were all Kraken

You’ve got to be trolling if after this loss you come in here and you suggest Myers is good.

Honestly, consider how we are down Pete Hughes AND Hronek, I'll take the 1 point.

Of course, this is not to say that our defense is anything even close to salvageable. Not even remotely to be pretender level.

And yes, this is a choke job, the whole team should be embarrassed.

If Mr. Clean and Moleman think that you can squeeze any more water out of this rock, hehe...good luck.

Guys, yes, it was an embarrassing loss. It's maybe the worst regular season choke in team history. But many of the comments from some of you about Myers and management and coaching are even more embarrassing. This team is decimated by injuries right now. The sky is not falling. Jesus Christ.
This post angers me even more than the loss.

The problem is any trade for any impact defencemen right now is going to cost a 1st round pick.

I’m not sure if I want to pay that price, considering how this team is doing

I think trading for a defenseman of the right pedigree and age is fine. They aren’t in a position to fully rebuild, but they have to start taking a hard look at pending UFAs over the next two seasons and how to reallocate cap space, as well as who is actually “core” here outside of Hughes.

Coaching isn’t the main problem, even if I don’t like the way he deals with certain players. Firing the Jack Adams winner isn’t the answer.

Roster management is an issue. We’re far too thin on the blueline and we’ve filled the gaps with slow Dmen with low hockey IQ and poor puck-moving skills. It doesn’t work in today’s NHL.
It's incredibly bad roster management but it sounded like Tocchet and Foote, and the style they want to play, had a fair bit of influence on the direction Allvin went with the D.

Coaching is nowhere near the biggest issue that needs addressing but I do think it's on the list.

I will say again.

Tocchet is basically done as the coach here. He's lost this room and it's become apparent since the Utah loss and only getting worse as time goes on. I don't see how he bounces back because he doesn't have the creativity or humility to adjust or evolve. He will stubbornly continue to flounder and not recognize it's making him sink faster

Either management keep him for the year with no trade help and see how the dice rolls or they try to salvage the season with a replacement.

There is something off with this team. First when Marchand attacked Hughes "the captain" the whole bench sat down like nothing happened. Miller attacked Marchand and I believe Blueger and Brannstrom were the only ones to stand up.

Today Sasson takes the puck to the ankle. Limping around trying to finish the play in his own zone the best he can. It goes to commercial break and not one Canuck player helps to escort Sasson to the bench. The team leaves the rookie to hobble on one leg to the bench when he could barely stand.

The comradery with this team is clearly off. Should be doing escape rooms together or trust falls after this game.

Why are there a few people getting on Miller on the OT goal? He skated back hard. Myers was nowhere to be seen.
Probably because the last 2 OT losses were actually his fault (and the shorthanded goal that made one of those an OT loss was on Miller too). They see JT there and see a pattern. Should Miller be more responsible on that play? Sure. But he's not Petey, he's never been responsible like that. It's clearly Myers' fault.

I missed this game and only saw highlights (super happy since I'm not as down as those that did watch). To me it's missing your entire top pair (with your best player and best dman in the world in there) and losing your top line center. There's a ton of adversity for this game... they should've won and it was a massive choke job but takes about how this would be a contender with the top pairing and top line center out if only Tocchet was smarter or fired are out to lunch. We need to get another defenseman, that is clear. Demko needs to find his game and so does Miller (and its suspect his conditioning needs to improve too).

If Hronek and Hughes are there then the other guys don't play as much and aren't as exposed. Juulsen is fine in low minutes and low pressure situations most of the time. Myers is usually good if not given too much time or responsibility. If Hronek isn't back anytime soon they need a bonified reliable defenseman... not sure who that is or how that gets done. I'd be mad if Allvin doesn't add a defenseman by the deadline for sure, but the world didn't end today.

I will say, a good portion of you are completely out to lunch when it comes to coaching. Like, you don’t actually know anything about systems, how coaches affect the game, etc.

I’m not sure why anyone is talking about the coaching staff when the roster construction and cap structure are so obviously out of whack. I mean most people flagged the dollars to forwards versus defensemen and potential injury risks heading into the season. This is all on management.

in the 3rd
garland took a worthless shot on net when he had hoglander wide open in the slot, just a totally selfish play by garland i thought, i also think there are possible factions on the team that go beyond pettersson and miller
