I always say this but AV was great at changing his style to get the most out of the players he was given. We havent had a coach with that ability sinceheh, I remember this (not from you but others) argued from another Coach of the Year winner on the Canucks.
I'm normally a pretty calm guy when it comes to hockey. I try not to get too high but I certainly bask in the victories. I try to let losses roll off my back and quickly move on. I can't change what happened nor is there anything I can do in the moment to affect the outcome.
But this loss, this one right here, has filled with me with a kind of unrestrained anger that I have no felt in many years. Just a seething disgust for damn near every defenceman on this team. There's things I'd happily do to each of these players that would get me convicted for war crimes normally reserved for the most foul of soulless humans.
Tocchet is a joke. He's got all sorts of talent trying to play like 4th liners.I always say this but AV was great at changing his style to get the most out of the players he was given. We havent had a coach with that ability since
Needed fixing 5 months ago
Add 1 at TDL and keep him. Add Willander and then in the offseason upgrade the bottom parings. This D core is completely irredeemable and so deeply bad that acquiring ONE top-4 D man using valuable pieces/futures is not going to fix things. Just so thoroughly bad from #3 to #7 (when everyone is healthy!).
Just really not feeling like our year with everything breaking against us.
We really needed an above average GM to really get us out of the hole that was dug for us back in 2021.
Unfortunately Allvin is average and has a tendency to make a bunch of unforced errors.
I'm actually so mad. I've never wanted to Tonya Harding a player before today. That's the kind of rage I feel.I'm normally a pretty calm guy when it comes to hockey. If every defenseman besides Hughes and Hronek left, I don't think anyone would have an issue.I’m not panicking anymore today than I was yesterday. The defense needed fixing yesterday, it still needs fixing today. For the long term future of this team.
This result is disappointing AF. But some of the comments about selling everything and whatnot are a little overboard.
Miller has been on the ice watching his man score 3 OT games in a row.Just quit while you're behind and take the L dude
I think thus far he's probably been above average, but trying to win the cup straight up after the Benning era basically means you have to get almost every single GM decision right and even small mistakes can snow-ball and it's just a brutal task. Their D decisions over the off-season are probably a good example of that.We really needed an above average GM to really get us out of the hole that was dug for us back in 2021.

I decided years ago to celebrate the wins and just not care about the losses. It's not worth yelling at your family and breaking shit because a bunch of overpaid bums can't do their jobs.
Doubling down on clown takes hmm, interesting strategy but good luck...!I came to the conclusion that Tocchet would be fired after the Utah game. He's lost the room and each game that becomes more clear.
At this point management shouldn't give him any help... the 1st will be more useful in the off-season.
I too would make out with Myers against his will. Probably need to bring a ladder....But this loss, this one right here, has filled with me with a kind of unrestrained anger that I have no felt in many years. Tocchet was asked about timeouts last year and basically said he hasn't figured out a good way to use them.Question;
As a Canucks coach - your team is winning 4-1 with 5 mins left in the game. The other team scores a couple goals.
Wouldn’t you use your time out to get everybody focused and calm the building? We’ve lost momentum?
What would be the benefit of saving it?
What if your family is Juulsen or Myers?I decided years ago to celebrate the wins and just not care about the losses. It's not worth yelling at your family and breaking shit because a bunch of overpaid bums can't do their jobs.

He could have used a time out after Seattle's 3rd goal.I don't think he knows how to use them. This team is pissing away points and it is going to cost us in the end.I said it before Tocchet is coaching like he did in Phoenix that cost him his job.He over achieved last season with a good team.Coaching isn’t the main problem, even if I don’t like the way he deals with certain players. Firing the Jack Adams winner isn’t the answer.
Roster management is an issue. We’re far too thin on the blueline and we’ve filled the gaps with slow Dmen with low hockey IQ and poor puck-moving skills. It doesn’t work in today’s NHL.
His only problem was that he never seemed to adapt when the opposition had a gameplan against the Canucks. One of the best at planning but not so much after the opening whistle.I always say this but AV was great at changing his style to get the most out of the players he was given. We havent had a coach with that ability since
