Most important points I took notice out of this:

- Miller took responsibility for his screw up last evening
- Denied for the most part any serious problems between himself and Pete
- Is annoyed by the media's persistent focus on him and Pete's supposed rift.

Again, I think the truth is likely somewhere in between.
Took responsibility after it was pointed out to him that toch had blamed him for the pk goal.

i do think the focus on pettersson and miller not getting along is probably not a very accurate summary of the situation. i think miller thinks of himself as a leader but is not very good at it and probably alienates and resents those who don't also think of him as a leader. primarily in this case pettersson but also i bet others. there's been rumours about the canucks dressing room being a hostile and uncomfortable place for years now. miller is not the only rumoured "bad egg" in the room

i think miller's time away from the team was probably a result of the friction over this issue rising to unhealthy levels. it's not just that pettersson likes edm and miller likes country music and they argue over the post game music. if that were the case i like to think they're both adult enough they could just avoid each other. it's gotta be more serious

there's probably a route to resolving it but the coaching staff and leadership group need to get things under control. right now it's plain it's completely out of control. moving miller is my preference but i also don't like him as a player. he's lazy, entitled and i don't think he's as good as he thinks he is

Miller still doesn’t look 100% right to me

Had ChatGPT summarize it:

  • Team Performance:
    • Miller reflects on recent games, noting positives despite mixed results. He highlights the team's strong play in a hard-fought game against Vegas and acknowledges costly mistakes in the following game.
    • He emphasizes the importance of staying positive during a slump, focusing on improvement, and minimizing errors.
  • Personal Accountability:
    • Miller admits to specific mistakes he made, including allowing a shorthanded goal and the overtime goal, taking full responsibility for those errors.
    • He evaluates his performance since returning from an absence, acknowledging inconsistency and the challenge of meeting his own high standards.
  • Expectations and Noise:
    • Miller discusses managing expectations after his return, noting that his strong performances against Boston and Colorado raised his own standards.
    • He dismisses external rumors and speculation (e.g., about him and teammate Elias Pettersson), stating that they are a non-issue and don't bother him. He remains focused on improving his game and contributing to the team.
  • Team Goals:
    • Miller stresses the importance of playing the right way and staying focused on team goals, like making the playoffs and building consistency, rather than solely chasing individual points.

No joke, I experimented with ChatGP to see if it can do a better job and it's so unreliable. I caught so many instances where it just started making things up.

Honestly don't think this team is going far this season. Been plague with different issues causing players to be out of the lineup since the start of the season, JT taking his leave and now this drama.

We can barely beat bad teams and when we do the games are extremely close. We can't beat good teams except Florida recently.

A bit unfortunate because of how well the team played last year and a waste of Hughes's talent with how he took his game even a further step this year.

Tomorrow’ Game
  • Have a chance to enter the break on a positive note
  • Big game and should be ready for it
Last Two Games
  • Vegas was a hard fought game; good road game on a back-to-back with a lot of positives
  • Last night was self inflicted
  • Doing a lot of good things right now but need to hurt themselves less with costly mistakes
Canucks’ Slump
  • Only a slump in the sense that they aren’t getting wins
  • Thought they outplayed Vegas early on
  • Gave themselves a chance in extra time
  • Lost in extra time in Utah
His Play Since Returning to the Lineup
  • Thought the three home games before the road trip were really good
  • Played okay against Utah and was skating well in Vegas
  • Says he wasn’t great against Ottawa
  • For his standards has just been okay
  • Tries not to take stock in scoring points
  • Points are harder to come by right now and isn’t driving play on a consistent basis
  • Will just try to have a good game tomorrow
  • Didn’t set high expectations for himself when he first came back but then he “played pretty damn well against Boston and Colorado” so his expectations changed
Shorthanded Goal Against
  • He made a mistake
  • Missed his guy and didn’t even realize his guy was behind him until he turned around; was trying to pick off the first pass
  • Needs to be more focused
  • Overtime goal was also his fault
  • Try not to duplicate mistakes
  • “Shit happens. It’s a long season.”
Miller & Pettersson
  • “You guys, in a sense, the outerworld has created this thing. Like, this isn’t a thing. Am I bothered? No. You guys are just wasting your time.”
  • In response to how sick he is about hearing of the alleged feud: “I don’t care. You guys want to talk about, you guys want to ask me…ask me all you want. I can bring out Petey and we can do the interview together if that would make you guys happy.
  • In response to shutting out the noise: “Listen, I have a lot of stuff to worry about right now from myself. I’m not worried about any noise. The noise is in between my ears and I’m trying to figure out how to play a good 200’ game for the team.”
  • Would be great if “we could get 100 points”; we’re just trying to play the right way and the points will come when they come

And regardinf ChatGPT - if it is unreliable and at points just makes shit up, then it would be able to replace almost all MSM perfectly, no?

is Brannstrom still scratched?
We don't know yet, but probably not based on the horrid passing from the bottom pair last game.

In fact, it would be great and frankly funny to have Miller and Pettersson do a joint media availability, especially if management won’t do further damage control and shut things down lol

Miller still doesn’t look 100% right to me

- Said it was not his responsibility on either of the goals last night and Lankinen needs to make some saves
- When asked about Pettersson he replied "Who? Sorry I don't know anyone by that name"
- Admitted he requested a trade this past summer; the only team that wanted him was Chicago but Canucks declined a 1-for-1 Bedard swap
- He was told he'd wear the C for the USA 4 Nations and nobody is allowed to wear an A

Nobody is in charge, they had some guy from the Vancouver Olympics in the spot for like a few months before he left:

Think that's for strictly the business side of things.

Hockey ops communication is run by Craig MacEwen.
