Ottawa tends to be Petey’s best way to break a slump. If they can’t put up goals against the Sens the team is in trouble.

Still getting mad 2007/2008 vibes from the team where they can’t catch a break and lose a key player on their roster in the spot they can least afford to, and where management messed up in the summer beforehand in addressing it (Brendan Morrison with only 4 top 6 forwards/Hronek with only 2 puck moving dmen).

People then blame the coach for a defensive system after they won the Adams the year before with it, forgetting they’re playing Shannon/Isbister/Jaffray or Brannstrom/Desharnais/Juulsen in key spots when they’re much closer to 13th forward/7th dmen than core roster players. Your best player then gets exhausted trying to hard carry, their play inevitably slips, and it becomes a full on disaster while people question if the top forwards are good enough to win (Sedins/Miller & Petey).

At the very least, Alvin is not Nonis, and is very likely working the phones to address the problems to take advantage of a guy playing at a Hart level (Luongo/Hughes), instead of wasting the season. Very curious to see if they can turn it around or not.

This is King Theoden of Rohan.

When Saruman’s army invaded Rohan, Theoden did not call to Gondor for aid. Theoden believed Gondor would not show as they were not there when the Westfold fell. Rohan would have been demolished at Helm’s Deep if not for Gandalf finding the exiled Rohirrim.

Later when the Beacons were lit, King Theoden and Rohan answered the call. Minas Tirith would have been sieged by the armies of Sauron if not for the Rohiirrim. King Theoden gave his life and was slain by the Witch King of Angmar.

Moral of the story is that triumph, you need both Rohan and Gondor. Please Elias and JT, we need you both to win

5-2 Canucks

Last 2 games where scheduled losses (Playing against a rested Utah team in elevation and playing a rested Vegas team on a b2b), things get back on track here.

I'm assuming Demko plays tomorrow night.

Would like to see Sherwood back with Petey and DeBrusk, but he's needed on every line.

"Ride for ruin, and the world's ending! DEATH!"

Feels very on brand for this year's Canucks.

Meanwhile, at Helm's Deep, Helm Hammerhand, King of Rohan's daughter Héra leads the resistance against Wulf, a Lord of Rohan on the pretext over vengeance of the death of this father at the hand of Helm, seeks their total destruction and the crown himself.

Moral of the story, is the Canucks need a woman no one has ever heard of to lead the charge to victory.

I'm not sure the Utah game was scheduled - but both teams tried to rope a dope each other and win it in the 3rd then OT.
Certain the LV game was and we surprisingly held our own, and had incredible chances for most of it especially by Sherwood and Bleuger of all people. Adin Hill was a giant in net and was the difference.

Canucks play boring hockey with a team of stars who cash it in, not really that excited about watching this team. Such a shame to have a player like Hughes and we’re blowing it. Honestly we need big change up, this core has gone through too many coaches already, it’s the players.
