This game is a good as any example of why the defense needs improvement. Just terrible foot speed and puck management. Lack of confidence to keep picks in the zone. Backing off too quickly. Way too passive. All because outside of Hughes no one can use speed to recover from bad gaps.

It's funny how people complain that we generate nothing yet fail to realize that the system prioritizes maintaining the puck and going for extremely high-percentage shots. There's a reason our team's shooting percentage is 12.2% (4th overall) and we're able to be a team that puts up an average level of offence while taking a well below average number of shots per game. We're a boring team, that maximizes our patience to mask our weak defence.

People wishing for us to go back to losing and missing the playoffs over making the playoffs is wild but at the same time not even surprising at this point.

People are complete morons and don’t even bother trying to analyze the game.

I’m not surprised so many of the older posters left - I only came back last year when things were going well so I hadn’t seen how stupid people get when a couple things are going wrong.

They’re missing puck moving dmen, so when Hughes isn’t carrying or the forwards aren’t carrying it up all on their own things fall apart. It’s the worst group of puck movers in the league if you take out Hughes, and it’s not close - Alvin needs to address it.

Instead of accepting that, people would rather bitch about the coach who finally got rid of the loser mentality we had and wish we were losing 6-3 again, getting hemmed in just as much but with a few breakaway goals.

The true sign of a good captain is what happens after your first successful team season. Do you build up on it or become lazy and cocky which manifests down to the team

We are seeing right now that Hughes is not captain material

He's having a off game, but he once again has been outstanding this season. Hughes is missing his number one defense partner and played this season with a team missing most of its stars due to break or injury. To be in the standings today with a winning record is unbelievable considering we didn't have our number one goalie. Hughes lead the team all the way while leading his team in points. Amazing captain and excellent leader. At this point I have to believe that you have to be trolling.

Thats why the team continously not shows up, gets outworked, its not all on Tochett. Its up to the players and the captain to have the team ready to play

And they are never ready to play

Hronek + top 4 + a legit top 6 winger, this team obviously looks completely different. Honestly amazing they’re still winning games with the current d set up. Most teams wouldn’t survive having Juulsen, Desharnais, Brannstrom and Myers in the line up at the same time

It's always been like this though. Even in the 2011 season some people were like this

Yea but today isn’t that it’s just terrible play. Poor passing. Poor puck control. Poor puck management. Lazy skating

I found doing some fasting to be really, really effective in helping me drop weight. Every third day doing a full day fast was really, really helpful. It was oddly fun, and I took greater pleasure in eating my massive 1400 calories meal at end of day.

On the days I wasn’t not eating I just did a normal calorie deficit of 500-1000 calories, along with walking a lot, and eventually getting a spin bike and riding that a lot. I wound up losing over 200 pounds over about 2 years. I got tagged with diabetes but it’s basically greatly managed with a plant based diet. The fasting was extremely good though, give it a thought! Autophagy is no joke awesome.
Absolutely that works. I was more aiming my comments at the “very hungry” comment. You can curb that with a good amount protein.

There is no wrong way (provided you are getting proper nutrition and are ina sustainable deficit). Different strokes for different folks. I just think it’s important that what you are doing is something you can envision continuing after you have dropped the weight with the needed mods to sustain weight.
