Brannstrom - Friedman can't be a pairing. They were horrendous against Boston and it was their initial flailing that put that game out of reach immediately.

Colorado has their struggles too. As someone said, may have been Bukula (whom I like a lot), Colorado has 3 guys who could be vying for the Hart Trophy, but their details are bad and nobody else is doing much.

So those three can win about half the games themselves, but the rest aren't really pulling the rope.

Our injured, and frankly inadequate, D provide them with more opportunity than one would prefer. But we have to forecheck harder, and take time to get our heads up before panicking and throwing the puck at someone in an equally problematic situation. That Bruins game looked like the last year under Boudreau.

Joshua doesn't seem to have it right now, he and Garland don't have the results they did last year.
He's clearly not 100% and he's dragging Garland down. It looks like Josh is trying to find his rhythm again but it looks to me he's not quite in shape for it. Garland benefits from his size and checking and they've had a history of great playmaking with each other, but Garland was doing well with someone else checking for him so far this year and they should keep that until Josh is ready.

So Silovs is still with the big team?
Team was still impressed with his playoff performance the way he stepped up. Was the defacto #1 until it was clear the opposition scouted his huge weaknesses high from the point. Lankinnen is benefiting from our incredible goalie coach it looks to me.
Looks like Demko got the "Silovs" treatment from his teammates. Save % now around .830. Ouch!
Demko looks a lot better out there than Silovs has. Scores should have been a lot higher against those two games Demmer has been in. He saved some miraculous rebounds against Boston.

Murphy and Ferraro were also convinced that the Flu is in the locker room . I'm not entirely convinced of that. The good players looked like individuals out there - mainly Quinn. The rest I'm convinced were stuck in the game plan where they were convinced they were going to win rope a dope style even though they were down 2-0 halfway through the 2nd period.

Even if they lose tonight it will be to a very good Colorado team. Canucks should give it their at all to show that last game was an anomaly and try to prove to management it was a fluke. Unless they really do have the flu.

MacKinnon is licking his chops looking at this Swiss Cheese defence.

Even if it's temporary, Sasson deserves a shot with how he's played.

Fully agreed. Show the young guys that effort + production + reliability = playing time. He entirely deserves the bump and he's shown some great attributes in limited minutes. I'm particularly a big fan of the speed he brings because the rest of the team is slow.

Joshua, when he is on his game, is winning puck battles that you'd think he shouldn't but he does anyways due to his size, strength and reach. It's an incredible force multiplier for Garland because they can extend their offensive zone time for a couple of extra touches before generating a chance. You can see that he's starting to turn the corner on this but he's not quite there. Just going to have to patient and he'll begin to play his self into game shape.

This. Colorado is also a flawed team. They get by on the backs of sheer overwhelming offensive sequences, but if anyone watched Rantanen and Mackinnon closely, they would get pretty frustrated at times.
