Tonight’s Game
  • Another tough game and good challenge; looking forward to these types of challenges
Goaltending
  • Demko starting
  • Lankinen was on the ice but is not feeling great
  • Silovs backing up
Defence
  • Desharnais will play; Friedman coming out
  • Forbort not ready to play yet
Colorado Avalanche
  • Can’t let them free-wheel in the neutral zone
  • No different than playing the Panthers
  • Have to go through people
  • Mackinnon moves his feet and when you move, options open up
Messaging to Players
  • Recent record is not horrible
  • Just need some guys to be more consistent
  • Need to be focuses; continue to teach them and remind them what’s at stake and adjust icetime
Leadership Group
  • Haven’t had them together for the entire year
  • When they are together it helps the room
Moments in the Game
  • The game is played pretty even 80% of the time but 20% there’s moments where you need a guy to make a play
  • When inconsistently comes in, you lost focus twice and the puck ends up in your net
  • Need to stay in the moment
  • When you have a rush chance, take that moment and do something with it
Fixing Mistakes
  • Reps will help fix consistent mistakes
  • Have talked about meeting pressure with Pressure
  • Sasson is playing in these pressure moments and is holding on to the puck and realizing what he can do
  • Need to be put into pressure situations all the time
  • Don’t panic under pressure
Flu Bug
  • Need to separate the sick players
  • A lot of teams get flu bugs
  • Listen to your science team and go from there

We have a science team? Is it lead by Professor Frink?

Hopefully, the flu bug is on the wane. Wish Forbort was healthy for tonight's game.

Is JT going head to head against MacKinnon? Interesting to see Sasson with Petey & DeBrusk. Hope he gets his 2nd goal tonight in a winning effort and gets to celebrate the right way.

I don't think this is for cap purposes. Seems Sasson has taken Raty's spot and they don't want him sitting in the press-box. Canucks are at 22/23 roster spots and Silovs, who they didn't say anything about, is still up under emergency recall conditions. Silovs doesn't count as a roster spot or against the cap.

Sasson has been head and shoulders better than Raty, and the other call ups, so good stuff.

He's not doing anything crazy, but having poise, making the right decisions with the puck while hustling without it. Being calm and methodical are underrated attributes for players coming up. (McWard also had this trait IMO, albeit with less general skill.) Glad he's sticking.
