Get to work and draw some penalties. Isles are known for fading late so get after it.

It's a wonder more teams don't try to sit back on them and neutralize their transition game. Do that and they're a much less dynamic, creative team.

This. Because now they've created a situation where the goalies seek out the contact if a guy is in the crease at all, to negate the goal. It's total horseshit and we all know it won't be called this way in the playoffs.
Does anyone remember the last time the league banned players from the crease? I seem to remember Brett Hull's foot magically not being called... but the league wanted the Stars (and Hull) to win that one.

There's no good rule to be made here. Either you have enough contact to warrant a goalie interference penalty, or it's not enough to call off a goal. These attempts to split the baby are doomed to fail. Plus it makes the games unwatchable when any goal can be called back on a tap of the goalie or an offsides that happened five minutes ago...

This is what creates gray. As long as it is consistent fine

The way the rule is written and how they’re calling it now - if you go to the blue on your own, and prevent the goalie from playing his position (whether through contact or otherwise), it’s GI.

What’s going on is they are interpreting “playing his position” VERY liberally. But it’s been pretty consistent this year.
