Some belated views after watching replay:

Pettersson and Hughes establishing themselves as the present and future leaders on this team. Hughes might be the best player in the League right now. Detroit must revisit the Hughes draft as we do the Joulevi - Thachuk draft.

Suter is so much better at center. If Miller gets back the Canucks would be strong down the middle with Miller, Pettersson, Suter and Bluger. Suter is quite possibly the upper level 3rd line center the Canucks have been seeking for years. Should never be played on the wing again - just negate much of the talent he has.

Good for Lankanin - not perfect in this one but his season has been fantastic. That was interference on the 3rd goal.

Desharnais is an absolute mess. Juulsen >>>>>>Desharnais and Juulsen is not very good.

Does Garland ever have a bad game? Doubt it. Maybe the most under-rated player in the League.

Soucy had an excellent game. Myers okay with Hughes for the most part. Brannstrom scores another important goal.

Is Demko going to play on road trip? Lankanin is carrying far too heavy a load and Silovs unplayable.

Boeser misses Miller but he made some good defensive plays.

Hoglander did some good things - just hoping he can break out. He's still fighting it and needs a goal almost too badly

Team needs some praise for this gutsy road trip.
Great point about Suter he's leveled up at center here and should not be moved.

TBH surprised by the reaction DeBrusk had been getting. We knew who he was before he signed. Been the same guy forever. He's hot for ten, then shit for ten. Felt the same about him when he was on pace for like 15 goals and 40 points as I do now when he's on pace for 35g and 65+.
There’s knowing that… and then there’s living that.. the DeBrusk roller coaster is wild

EP was actually pushing play today. He doesn’t need to be blowing by people all game, but he needs to be confident with the puck rather than hiding in soft ice.
Petey’s finally got some shooters to feed…. And he likes it a lot.

what i like about suter is he is a slightly less tenacious and defensively stymying blueger, only he doesn’t have hands of stone

i think having those two being interchangeable as the 3C, depending on whether you need blueger there to help overwhelm the opposition and create chances off the rush for garland and joshua, or you need suter there to help them finish plays

I like Suter between Joshua and Garland, and Blueger with Raty and Heinen.

But it leaves the question of who plays on the wing with Miller and Boeser? Unless they really think Lekk is ready, we are short a top line winger. Pretty sure it's not Hoglander.

Not saying you're not driving safely but please for the love of CHRIST be careful when you drive in such conditions.

Stay the f*** out of our spinal cord injury rehab unit. I don't want to see no HFers at work!

Oh, believe me, I’m a cautious driver. I get passed a lot for taking it too slow. But I passed two or three vehicles in the ditch that had raced passed me earlier (they were already getting helped).

Take it slow, arrive safe, arrive alive. But man, that was a crappy drive!

Did you older gents start to really f***ing hit on your takes at like ~30? There's no way I'm just this lucky, historically, but I'm still a huge f***ing hole when it comes to knowing shit.

E: Not gloating, like 25% is still a lot f***ing more than 10 for instance.

Yeah, I think 17 year old me knew that but didn't quite grasp it lmao.

Idk, Bacon, I'm 31 and I feel old. But I put serious miles on this old thing. Turns out alcoholism isn't the boon everyone thinks it is, and then the hockey. God, the hockey. My knees are literal paper-mashay im not f***in french don't make me spell it. I've dislocated the right one twice and I feel the left starting to go. Again 30 hours weekly of ball hockey on asphalt for 7 years does that. f*** I missed college lectures cause I literally couldn't get out of bed from being sore from hockey.

I regret...50%. Not the hockey.

I once saw my dad blow into the gas tank of lawnmower and it directly blew all back in his face cause he was overexuberant. That's essentially the deck of cards I'm pulling from here. It's a miracle I made it this far god damn. My uncle had a signed Jarome Iginla stick from his Blazer days and began using it shortly after as a poop scooper for his dog. My family is...a lot of things. Not smart, though.

Hey it's life, and it's a beautiful thing. We all navigate this shit in different ways. I wasted 10 years of my life, unfortunate, but it cannot be undone. I now push myself to work hard to make up for it the best I can.

Today marks the 50th overtime shift I did for the year, I think I'll hang it up until 2025 haha.

It’s ‘Swiftie’ week in Vancouver with Taylor Swifts 3 sold out shows at BC Place. Also, the Canucks have 2 games this weekend starting this Friday.

The foot traffic this week is gonna be crazy

Hey, are you ok?

I've been more or less 99.98% sober...or dry, rather since September 2019. The green goddess is as much a part of my family as a good argument. Got a nice little 5 month dry streak going. Haven't drink since the divorce. Yeah, I'm not bad. Been better. Been worse. I'd say I'm more or less at peace with *who* I am. I do use a f***ton of comedy to lighten things up, but life is kinda dark, no? Specially in winter. This is perhaps the most optimistic I've ever been in my life, I'm not a super positive person, I know I don't show it.

How are you, man? You doing alright?
