I have a huge problem with the lack of accountability and discipline of half of our d-men, this Juulsen thing is just the latest example. It's on the coaching staff that we have defencemen chasing guys above the hash marks. It just plays into what young forwards are being taught now, which is to bait the defenceman into coming off their position to create open space that another forward can move into.

Just the number of times that Myers/Soucy/Juulsen/Forbort are out of position is ludicrous. I find Hronek/Hughes either don't do such a bad job or are just talented enough to recover when they make a mistake.

I think the biggest problem is that there isn't enough push from outside the lineup to force these guys either into the 3rd pair or into the pressbox. If they knew their lineup spot was in jeopardy I think they'd all learn a lot faster.

I actually do like the potential of that Pettersson line, which is something that I haven't felt about a line long term in a while (Garland is only helpful for playing with him when Pettersson is playing poorly).

DeBrusk and Sherwood are not tunnel-vision players as far as I know, can do the dirty work for Pettersson in terms of intensity, and can seemingly play off the way he thinks the game.

Sherwood has felt Burrows esque in the sense that he feels so much like a perfect 3rd liner that you hesitate to make him a top six, but he seems like he can potentially explode on the top six and really help skill guys.
