I seriously don’t understand the decline of Soucy. If you watch him, he seems completely scared to take the man and just disinterested in making reads. What happened this summer?

Could be the system change making things hard for him or he could just be playing injured. Hope it’s the latter

He tricked us last season playing roughly 28-30 games of playing like a top 4 D. Now I don’t think he’s as bad as he’s currently playing right now but he’s really a 17 minute bottom pair dman.

DeBrusk is straight up not a top 6 player. I can't believe our management group bought so high on a freaking 19 goal season. Literally same mistake they made with the Mikheyev signing, but worse than that was watching Canucks nation convince themselves he was the answer for Pettersson's line. "He's streaky, just you wait" oh boy can't wait for the next streak to start, maybe he'll even end the season with 12 goals!

God, watching him kill every powerplay and every rush is draining my soul. He can't make decisions at NHL speeds so why trot him out during important minutes. Game tying goal on his stick and he literally hits the "G" on the Rangers logo....smh

Bains was pretty good tonight. Hoglander was the weak link on that line, again.

Lekkerimaki totally in over his head. It’s great that he can shoot and has pretty good reads but he needs to get bigger and faster so he can get to those spots on the ice, and not get rubbed out everywhere.

DeBrusk looks no different than any other night. Defensively responsible Jake Virtanen who will put up 45-50 points and hopefully raise the level come playoff time. We also aren’t creating enough off the rush rn for him to score a ton so

Pretty good effort given the circumstances.

We are down 3/5 of our best players on this upcoming road trip. If they can go .500 here, it’d be a big win honestly

I mean you clear never watched him on Boston before.

When he’s on you would think he’s the best player in the world

Terrible homestand but an undermanned team gave it a good go tonight and probably deserved a better fate.

Garland was absolutely fantastic. Best player on the ice for either team. Up there with his best games as a Canuck - won so many puck battles tonight, drew penalties, outcompeted everyone on the ice. Joshua also with easily his best game so far.

Pettersson and Sherwood were both very good. Debrusk ... needs to find another gear. Looked like he was coming right about 5 games ago and has regressed again.

Lekkerimaki's first two games were decent but he's turned into a pumpkin in the last two. Was a liability tonight both at ES and on the PP. Needs to go back to the AHL.

Hughes started the game with a bang but I thought this was one of his sloppier efforts this year. Still by far our best pairing.

Hoglander is just doing everything wrong right now. Needs to do a George Costanza and do the opposite of what his brain is telling him to do.

Raty has had a couple good games recently but like Lekkerimaki struggles with the pace of this one. Bains, however, acquitted himself very well. Skated well, a couple nice setups for chances.

Myers-Soucy need to be broken up.

Brannstrom didn't look as dynamic as in previous games but was fine. Juulsen continued a trend this year where his first periods are utterly horrific and then his last 40 minutes are pretty decent.

Silovs almost survived but was sliding everywhere and losing his crease and this wasn't an overly confidence-building game even if he made some nice saves.

This has been a bad 10 days. Everything seemed to be coming together after the strong California road trip and a 7-1-1 stretch but the wheels have come off starting with the Boeser injury.

According to the summary on nhl.com

Rangers won 67.2% of the faceoffs, Canucks 32.8%
Rangers had 8 takeaways and only 3 giveaways; Canucks 4 takeaways and 14 giveaways

With that many times giving up possession it is a little surprising the score was so close.

On another note, Hughes is shown as playing 28:17 and had no giveaways, amazing given the amount of time he typically has possession of the puck.

I only watched from 2-1 down in the second. Thought we played quite well and did a lot of good things. Besides from not getting more goals of course.

I have to agree with @ChilliBilly. We probably shouldn't be wasting any assets on short term help. A long time defence option sure, but this season shouldn't be a priority at all. We have such a long list of things going against us right now and to start the year. No use chasing what might just be a impossible task. We'll see how Boeser, Miller, and Demko respond first.

Effort was definitely there, fought hard considering how undermanned we are against a top team.

But still just too undisciplined when it comes to defensive assignments, details, line changes, etc.

We don't have the roster to trade chances, especially when 2 of our 3 best forwards are out. Coaches need to reel in the looseness of this team.

Went to the game.

Can’t fault the effort. Least they showed up. If they had played that way in other home games, they would have a few more wins.

Silovs wasnt great on the goals but neither was Shesterkin.

Petey showed up and would have had another Apple if DeBrusk could finish.

Rags really pinpointed the right side of the Nucks defense. Was clear as day that was the strategy and it resulted in goals and chances.

Overall an entertaining game.

Shitty they lost out put that effort into next game and you have a good chance for 2pts.
