Petey is playing worlds better than he was, but man, I want him to get back to using his lethal shot. Still looking to pass or handle it too much when he’s in prime scoring spots.

After the first few minutes, that was a solid period. Just keep building off it.

Necas with 4 points and a 13 game point streak.

27 points on the season.

Sigh.........

He's now third in NHL scoring ahead of guys like Kucherov, Draisaitl, etc.

I don't think anyone saw him being this good but damn.

No shade to Pettersson who has played his best hockey lately, but... they were offering Necas PLUS other goodies.

Credit where credit is due - Juulsen has a good period. If he can do that for a full game, it wouldn’t be so bad if he plays.

Soucy at this point may need to be healthy scratched and have a break to reflect
Juulsen should be jettisoned off this province but I’d also look at moving Soucy.

I just don’t understand what is up with him. He had snarl, toughness, ruggedness, just an absolutely punishing dman. I remember how much of a prick he was during the bubble play ins against us. He carried that with Seattle and was always a prick to play against.

I’m not going to discredit last year. In stretches, he was playing like a top 4 shutdown D. I noticed his physical game and that punishing aspect of his game wasn’t there but I assumed it’s probably because he’s focused on playing in his elevated role. He got injured, had a great stretch, went down with an injury again, came back had a good stretch again but his skating was nowhere near what it was. He slowed down towards the end of the season and had a mediocre playoffs.

This year he’s been one of the worst defensive dman and by quite a bit. Myers has outdone him the last couple of games, but at this point, I’m more inclined to believe Soucy is more likely somewhat of this current iteration than what he was last season playing with a solid revolving crew of Cole, Zadorov, and Myers.
