B2B at home is only done on weekends. As we get out of NFL season, expect that more from US clubs as they can do a Sat afternoon game, followed by a Sunday night game for a bit extra rest.

Most teams give their fans a day break between games, but, given how the NHL likes to avoid MNF, you'd then have a 2 day break before Tuesday following a Sat game.

Without the travel, the players do get home by around 11pm or so. Most of the players live in downtown or the west end. Can get their normal rest vs. getting to the next hotel by 2am.

Preds played in Cal on Friday, so in a rare situation, the road team is the more rested team.

Does anybody remember that hockey fights league they tried to start a decade or two ago? Just the goons dropping the glovers at centre ice…..was this real or a fever dream I once had

There have been a couple attempts at like a hockey boxing thing. Battle of the Ice Enforcers (with Link Gaetz!) is probably the one you're thinking of a while back, and I think the current one is called Ice Wars.

Forbort on IR and Desharnais banged up, but I can’t see D-Petey playing over Brannstrom/Soucy on the left side… Maybe they’ll try Pettersson-Brannstrom eventually after Juulsen has another disaster game.
