heck
I don’t think points Tell the whole story, I feel he has another couple gears, I’ve seen it in the playoffs.
Yes, points don't tell the whole story. He's also solid defensively, is tied for 3rd among Canucks forwards in hits, is hustling, and is generating a decent amount of chances.

I genuinely don't know what you expect from a 2nd liner making 5.5M

Offense just completely nullified on that last chance because Pettersson didn't shoot and everyone gets boxed out right away after. No shot on net.

Should be said, though, that generally Pettersson is playing well. I've liked his game tonight. He looks a little bit stronger just by virtue of playing with the puck with some purpose.
I'm fine with that. He's setting guys up quite regularly now.

The effort is there tonight, which might be worse.

A lucky goal is all we have to show against a lottery team. Good teams blow teams like Chicago out early, and cruise on autopilot the rest of the game for our b2b.

Ffs. No shot. Petey needs to be more agressive

Fair, but as has been stated a million times already he has a history of slow starts and is a very streaky player on a new team.
I don’t think he’s a bad player, but fair or not to say, but we needed him to either be an efficient player for 5.5M (ie. bloom into a star player) or be capable of making his linemates better.

I don’t see a huge difference between Heinen and Debrusk and there’s a huge difference in salary and term. Hell, Sherwood’s been something special at even less.

I would have saved the money for a top 4 D.
