8 months short of 30 years on you. Been living and dying Canucks for over 50 years .... if Petey gets going we are going to be a tough opponent for everyone.

Edit - without McDavid, we should be able to win this one handily ... which of course means ....

Re - edit - This home stand should go well. Cal 2 games over .500, Isles at .500 and the rest doing terrible, until the rangers. And by then I hope we are well ahead of them in the standings. No road game for over 2 weeks.

Man, how critical of an acquisition is Lankinen turning out to be? Would be great if we could carry the momentum of the LA game over and roll the Oilers.

You could make a crazy argument that Quinn Hughes is the Hart favourite after 12 games but that Kevin Lankinen is the Vancouver Canucks MVP.

It's absolutely terrifying to think about where we'd be without him.

We’re going to split starts 50/50 between Demko and Lankinen when he’s back, right? We’re not going to just run Demko into the ground? Right??

Not crazy. Lankinen is our MVP.

Edit: Ah, I see what you mean with Hughes and Lankinen being on the same team.

I'd argue that Lankinen's play gives the team a major boost just like Demko's does. The team plays a lot more aggressively and looser when they have confidence in their goalie, and I think that translates into Hughes feeling like he can go into full rover/god/robot/assassin mode.

Well that, but also without him we go from one of the best goalies in the league so far to Silovs/Petera

The city would be in meltdown mode

Hell, that's the eternal argument people have made about the Hart in general. Best player in the league vs. Most Value Player.
