Not trading Vatrano last deadline or in the off-season is going to be a massive mistake for Verbeek.
They are making a lot of unforced errors, thats for sure.

It was talked about extensively when he actually was the fastest to 200 wasn't it?Yeah, if he was THE fastest it would be like 'wow, that's pretty cool' but this whole race to see whether he could beat Paul Coffey to 3rd place in this stat that nobody had ever heard of before a couple weeks ago was just odd.

let's turn this beautiful painting into the Sistine MF Chapel:Kiefer Sherwood vs Steven Stamkos
Stamkos: 12gp 2g 3a 5p (1 EV assist) TOI 228:33 4y/8m
Sherwood: 11gp 3g 4g 7p (all EV) TOI 140:34 2y/1.5m
This is art.
If you look at the slow motion replay it was deflected and changed direction and touched Petterson stick.Strong performance. First 10 minutes were a little wobbly but we absolutely destroyed a crappy Anaheim team for the last 50 minutes.
The whole Pettersson/Hughes goal thing was super weird. Pettersson didn't appear to touch it, didn't celebrate, didn't lead the handshake line. Like, is he so broken he doesn't even try to claim what would be a big goal for him now? Or did the team just manage to successfully argue for him to get a charity goal to boost his confidence? So strange.
Hughes was just unbelievable last night. One of the most dominant games of his career, was just everywhere and looked like he was playing an AHL team.
That said, am I the only one that thinks '3rd fastest D to 300 assists' is kind of a weird/meaningless thing and who didn't get the big fuss made about it?
Sherwood-Blueger-Heinen are basically performing like an elite 2nd line. Heinen is such a weird player - absolutely nothing pops in terms of the eye test but he's just always in the right places at both ends of the rink and has plus hands when scoring opportunities arise around the net.
Thought Pettersson was poor again aside from doing a couple decent things on the PP. Saw 3 separate occasions where he was favoured to win a puck race and then just stopped skating and conceded the play.
Miller's line was solid, if not spectacular. Miller against Anaheim's kids in the faceoff circle was just unfair.
Hoglander showed some more jump and pushback in this game after a series of pretty insipid performances. More of that, please.
Desharnais had a better game, don't remember a case of the play getting behind him which has been his big problem. Another strong game for Brannstrom.
Soucy was horrible in the 1st but I thought the last 40 minutes was maybe the best he's looked this season aside from one dumb penalty.
Lankinen rock solid again. Best value contract in the NHL right now.

I go to bat to defend Heinen against non-puck knowers: immediate vindication.
Man I love this captain.
Yes, and probably most games we can pick a 10-minute stretch that wasn't great. After that it was a comprehensive. dominant victory in pretty much every way.Strong performance. First 10 minutes were a little wobbly but we absolutely destroyed a crappy Anaheim team for the last 50 minutes.
