Petey should be the main weapon the PP. Both with his wrister and his one-timer. But he's so reluctant to use either. Coaches should make it a priority to force him to shoot like at least 3 times per PP.

He should be coming off the right wall and looking to snipe like Naslund.
The weird thing is I have no sense of whether Petey’s wrister/one-timer has been affected by injuries because of his absolute refusal to use either. I can’t tell if those weapons of his are still there somewhere because of a near-zero sample size of late. he hasn’t used those weapons in ages. I guess the hope is it’s a mental thing, but very hard to ascertain.

I really don't like how Tocchet plays favorites. He's a lot like Torts in that way. This old school brand of coaching needs to die.

I hope people don't expect too much out of Joshua right out of the gate.

This is a guy who has struggled a bit with conditioning and getting up to speed in both of the last two years and now this year his body has been through cancer treatments and he's coming in having much less summer training and no training camp. I suspect he's going to be a step behind the pace for his first month or so and probably should have his minutes limited.

He always has slow starts in general.

I don't know what it is about the Devils, but even when they were bad a few years ago, the Canucks always seemed to lay an egg when they played them.

Their forwards are quick, and if Markstom gets in a zone, he can be well night unbeatable. Got to get that PP going somehow. The Devils will take some penalties, with a lot of hooks and holds.
