Interesting times with the lineup for the next few weeks.

Seems like in-goal they are listening to goalie coach or sticking to a set plan. Neither Silovs or Lankinen have been promised anything and the team has faith enough in the rest of the team to not make "win-or-die" decisions regarding the tandem.

Forward lines are in the blender until they start to TAKE what role they want. No one in the top 6 has proven shit so far.

We signed 4 new dudes that "might" be in the top 6? Prove it... Bains, Aman and Raty are eating your lunch? Sherwood, DeBrusk, Sprong and Heinen have been ok?! Maybe Sherwood has been above expected for his salary?

The fowards the team brought in have VERY different expectations vs the D core that are new. Forwards need to start paying dividends stat. D have a bit more of a leash...

The Panthers will be without Barkov and Tkachuk......but still probably have enough to beat this current version of the Canucks.

They just need a lot more of everything......but at least the PK is cooking right now.

The team practised PK so hard they forgot how to do everything else.

Heres hoping for the teams first win of the season, and in convincing fashion.

Prediction:
6-2 canucks
Petey does a deke so f***ing sick the refs shits themselves on the center ice , falls on his own shit and has to be strechered off the arena.

PG with a little friendly jab towards the defeatist crowd affirming to them that the season has just begun and to keep their heads up.

Love to see old time posters step in like this to set tempo a little and remind ourselves we have reasons to be confident with this team.

If petey can look like a 3rd liner in the game I'll call it a win
Ya, many posters and the bought media keep saying it is only 3 games but ignore the last 40 or so from last year, if that's the case every game if another first, the next time will be the first time.

It is early but they are already getting to the point of needing to play better than last season, close but not quite there yet.

This Florida team thrives on "evil, wicked, mean and nasty". Even not having Tkachuk and Barkov combined with a much shorter summer due to winning the cup they are playing like beasts.

Most of this Florida team was assembled by Talon's plan and/or set up by his "you have to get bad before you get good" which set up for many trades.

If it turns into a bar fight some of the Canucks will look good but if it turns into a boxing match the Canucks may be in trouble. big trouble.
Florida could take them out behind the barn and open a big can of whoop ass on them.

That Allvin/Tocchet interview showed that Allvin has relied on Tocchet to retool the team to Tocchet board guys.

Miller looks like he is pacing himself, Pettersson looks like the weight of the world is on his shoulders and it is too much, Myers is once again being over used, Boeser has "try" but he is only as good as the other line mates. Garland has always been a "lone ranger" for most of his career, last year he looked his best but it was still only his second 20 goal season at 5 million but he does dart around a lot.

DeBrusk is a complimentary player.
Too many complimentary players, too many workers and not enough lead hands.
Team identity and chemistry were destroyed and are now lacking.

A lack of scoring so one of the best goal scorers signed gets benched and one of the big defence signings is watching from the rafters. Wasted money on defence, 6.75 million

Seriously some players on this team look like they are easing up if Demko isn't playing, at least the players that have fat contracts.

This could be a defining game, but then until they win every game is.

Florida is rolling, they are due to lose one, Canucks are due to win one

Canucks were 65.3 on the win-o-meter vs Tampa. Tampa has the best top line in the league

So i don't know what all the whining is about

It's as if morale victories have lost its value in Vancouver.

Morale victories, made famous in Vancouver during Willie D's years here, but peaked during Travis Green's years
