All sympathies to Bryan. I hope they find a GM who is okay with bottoming out and drafting high. I am really frustrated with the Sens right now owned by Melnyk. Spending to the floor of the cap but still hoping to make the playoffs every year. They're in purgatory. A No Man's Land. Maybe the economics in Ottawa do not support a franchise. I don't buy it. But man is it being run into the ground on that belief. Melnyk has to break even. Okay, fine. Then draft high. No more middle ground. If we're a cap floor team then act like it. No more just trying to make the playoffs. Have a long term plan at least.

I totally respect the rational opionon that maybe the team should pick the next GM. However, my emotional side is completely ok with Murray, given his time and committment to the club, being given this last legacy decision. (he's moving into his advisory role, so he would have had input anyway)

I know the Sens won't splash cash on a name like Shero (sigh...)

I hope they don't rush Dorion or Lee into the role, as they're still learning the ropes of their new positions.

I wish Timmy M could somehow find his way home (but don't blame him for staying with a great situation in Buffalo).

Whoever mentioned Timmins, that fits really, really well. Hadn't thought of that. Knows the people. From the area. Can get him as a promotion. Interesting.

Let be real here...

5 Coaches in Murray's Tenure
Star Players always wanting out
Multiple bad FA signings over the years
Currently 10 points out of a playoff spot

its not working...yes there are a few bright spots in there, but the negative out weighs the positive...And imo a lot of our young guys get too much praise for being young or their draft position rather than what they have been actually contributing on the ice.

Bryan's plan goes back to 2011 when we traded away Fisher and Kelly

Prior to that he was doing what ownership was forcing him to do which was trying to keep afloat

His plan is working fine but Alfie and Spezza bailing due to age/health considerations were major setbacks
