Commissioners

Basic Rundown

  • There will be 30 GMs, 1 for each team. We ask that you do not sign up if you do not plan on being active daily.
  • The time that this game hypothetically takes place in is after the trade deadline of the 2009-2010 season. Meaning, no trades will be made until the offseason. Following a short period of RFA and UFA re-signings, we will vote on playoff seeding, as well as the winners of each playoff round until we get a Stanley Cup winner. After the Stanley Cup voting, we will have an off-season, complete with Free Agency, the draft, and trades.

Salary Cap

  • The salary cap for the 2010-2011 season will be $58.3M

Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you'd like to place a player on waivers.
  • Each team has the option of sending down 1 player with 1-way contracts to the minors (or Europe) due to cap reasons and only 1 buyout will be allowed per team.
  • The lowest team in the standings in real life gets highest waiver wire priority.

Trades
  • All trades must be sent to IslesRock4 and RR or else they are not valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. Washington will not trade Ovechkin, Pittsburgh will not trade Crosby, etc. The commishioners hold the power to veto any ridiculous trades.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be approved by BOTH trade managers prior to posting. Keep in mind it will only be on a rare occasion that a NTC or NMC is waived.
  • If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to acquire a certain player, the trade will be vetoed.

IMPORTANT : FROM NOW ON, I WILL ONLY ANSWER TO OFFERS FOR UFAS. THERE'S NO NEED TO INQUIRE ABOUT WHAT A PLAYER WOULD WANT. SEND YOUR OFFER AND WE WILL DISCUSS FROM THERE.

The :sharks have re-signed 2 forwards today that have helped our organization become the best team in the Western Conference this season and will hopefully allow us to stay contenders for the next decade.

patrick-marleau-sharks-hockey-family.jpg

Patrick Marleau: Has re-signed and plans to retire as a Shark on a 8-year $52 million dollar deal that will pay him $6.5 million per year on a front-loaded contract, the deal includes a full NTC.

Manny Malhotra: Has found a home in San Jose where he will stay for the next 3 years. His deal is structures as such: 4M$ for 3 years (1,333,333M$ per) Full NTC the 1st year, limited NTC (10 teams he would not accept a trade to) the 2nd and the 3rd year

Hey guys.

I just found out I'll be heading off to to England next weekend for a week on business. While I will have internet access and likely could be some-what active, I don't want to be holding you guys up.

So I think it would be best if you used one of the replacement guys to fill the Detroit Red Wings for me. Perhaps I can get back into another GM game during the NHL offseason or something.

Thanks for understanding.

We have a 1st, 2nd, and 2nd(PHI)

All of those picks are in play if it brings us a good, young top 4 defenseman or an upgrade at 2nd line center from Stoll.

Jonathan Bernier is also available, but only if it brings us a top pairing defenseman.

Untouchables-Kopitar, Brown, Smyth, Doughty, JMFJ, Quick, Schenn, Simmonds

IMPORTANT

Just to make sure everybody understands...

Trades will resumed after the playoffs. Until then, trade discussions are NOT prohibited. You can discuss trades but of course, nothing may be sent in until the end of the playoffs.

The fact that you can doesn't mean that you have to. It may be more realistic to wait at least until the end of the season (or playoffs run if your team is in the playoffs) to discuss trades.

:nhl 2010 ENTRY DRAFT

***This is posted in the draft and trade thread and it will be the only time I will post it again until before the draft.***

Once again, I will handle the draft. We don't know about the schedule right now but I strongly recommend that you send me your draft list before the draft (as soon as possible).

I will make the selections for every teams considering the lists I have. If a GM doesn't send me his list, I will go with the best player available according to the rankings we will be using. Unless someone has a better idea, I will use the same rankings than in the other game.

IMPORTANT : MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE PICKS (1ST AND 2ND ROUNDS) YOU TRADE IN THE GAME APPEAR IN BOTH RR DRAFT CHART AND TRADE LIST. IF YOU DON'T AND THERE IS A MISTAKE, YOU WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT SINCE IT'S WHAT I WILL BE USING FOR THE DRAFT.

Have fun with the game guys!

:habs OFFSEASON PLANS

Carey Price will be on the trading block. Here is what we will be looking for :

1. The team has to take Jaroslav Spacek aswell (but we are ready to take a lesser salary dump in the deal if needed).
2. The starting point for Price (and Spacek) will be an elite prospect or a high 2010 1st round pick. If it's a prospect, we would prefer a forward (with 1st line potential) but we could also be interested in a defenseman (with top pairing potential). Since we don't have any room on our top 6 (or top 4 if d-man), we would like a prospect who is one year away from the NHL.
3. What the team will be ready to add will determine who will get Price (and Spacek).

Remember that Price's potential is incredible so the offer needs to be incredible. We are looking for quality and not quantity. If we get what we want, Price should be traded before the draft.

Note : We will also listen to offers for Price alone but we will give priority to teams ready to take Spacek.

As for possible other moves, we don't plan to make a big splash. Of course, a lot will depend of the season and playoffs results. We will likely keep it low profile and see the offers we get.

:habs PLEKANEC, MOORE AND DARCHE RE-SIGN

The Montreal Canadiens are pleased to announce that we came to terms with UFAs to be Tomas Plekanec, Dominic Moore and Mathieu Darche.

Plekanec is our best player so far this season and if it was not of the injuries (he didn't always have the best players on his line), he would have end the season on a PPG rate. He can play in every situation and he plays a dominant two-way game. Bringing him back was the key move of our offseason and we are happy that he didn't wait the offseason to accept our offer. The deal will pay him 4.5M$ over the next 6 years.

Moore was a big acquisition for us before the Olympics. He is great in his role and he can play in key situations. He brings the speed that Glen Metropolit was not able to bring anymore. The deal will pay him 1.125M$ over the next 2 years.

Darche is one of the biggest surprise this season. He keeps things simple but he plays hard every shift he has the chance to be on the ice. He is an inspiration for the other players on the team but also for the players in the AHL waiting for their chance. The deal will pay him 500k for next season.

I'm entertaining ALL offers for my star players, but if you send me some that's laughable don't expect a response/a quick response. I've got arguable a Top 10 Foward, Goalie and Defenseman on the block (15-20 for Regehr for most...before i get jumped on). Don't offer me aging players and don't offer me quantity amounts of junk.

The Blackhawks will listen to offers for Seabrook

I wont say he is available for sure but I am considering moving him if the return is good enough.

I worry about the viability of having 20+ mil for my top 4 dman going ahead as his contract expires next year
