They always could have produced this way. Sutters structure was just too robotic.
Difference is, yes they could have produced, but they couldn't have defended, they had to learn that, from Murray and Sutter, they made the right move moving on but Sutter and Lombardi created a culture that Kopitar, Carter, quick, doughty etc will pass on to the young players, and that is how perennial playoff teams are built and it takes awhile but they are getting it

Definitely not under Sutter. A lot of guys having career years production wise this season, hopefully others will follow suit in the coming years.

Doughty and Kopitar aren't the first players to have new career highs under a new coach after Sutter. We can go way back to Patrick Marleau and Jarome Iginla. But still, Sutter will always be my favorite Kings coach because of the 2 Cups.

It's pretty rare the Kings score 4 consecutive goals this season with out Kopitar getting a point on any of them. I'll take that as a sign they're playing well.

Been lucky the Wild decided to play like the Sabres after 1 stupid penalty. Gonna need that kind of luck in the playoffs to get past the first round.

yeah these guys aren't the top of the league in GA without those skills forced on them

it's like a decaying sine wave right? goes high, then low, then eventually levels out where it should

which sucks because he's made some really nice plays and deserves a few points.

and honestly i wouldn't have been the least bit surprised if this team came out and laid an egg after clinching given some of their performances in the past few weeks

nice to see them playing loose and having fun

Time to trigger the main boards and post a Dustin Brown Hat Trick thread
