Yey loser point that breaks the tiebreaker with Utah. Losing the game by giving up a 2 goal lead in the 3rd and moving ahead of Utah in the standings. This is the way.

This team is way too small up front. That is for sure. I keep forgetting oconnor plays for us.
Blueger
Suter
Garland
Hoglander
Debrusk plays pretty small

That is a lot of small fwds.

I found it noticeable that MIN was able to cleanly gain possession and break out of their zone while we constantly banged it off the boards and gave it back to them in our zone.

When Canucks play that way they end up with no shots or possession which is what we ended up with tonight.

Karlsson looks like a player. Decent frame and makes moves with the puck on his stick to try to get to better scoring positions rather than “back to the point”. Also filled a MIN player in and went after Faber for the after whistle hi jinx.

Canucks finished with just 14 shots on goal.....painfully lacking in size, speed and offensive creativity up-front.

But I guess there's not too many teams in the league would be able to shrug off the loss of their two best centers. But watching the Wild take over the game from the middle of the second period on, reminded me a lot of the recent Vegas game.

Second to every loose puck; and second in the puck battles. Too many times the Canucks were just desperately hoisting the puck out of their own zone. Looked a lot like some of the games earlier this year when the Canucks were without Hronek, and forced to us Desharnais and Juulsen too many minutes.

If the Canucks find a way to win their final two home games, they'd finish with 92 points. And even if they split, 90 isn't bad considering the injuries, turmoil and shuffling of player personnel this team went through.

I don't know if the Canucks are playing this way out of necessity or whether Tocchet can only coach one style. The team does need more size AND skill in the mix for the forwards. Garland and Hogs create in different ways and neither are afraid to play in traffic.

Maybe Karlsson does find his way onto the top six next season? Raty has size. Replacing Boeser will help with speed and tenacity.

You'd think with this defence the team could play a more controlled, attacking approach, instead of so much dump and chase. Give Hronek his own pairing and you've got a top four that can definitely create plays from the back end, and if Junior is on the bottom pairing, he certainly could bring that aspect as well.

Such a shame that Podz flamed out so badly. Boldy on this team would make such a difference.

Funny how Tocchet was talking up Mueller so much only to give him 10 mins. That's really not bad for your first taste of the NHL, but I'm starting to notice that what Tocchet states publicly often doesn't show up in the game.

Damn, I didn't watch but seriously the stats look like a team that didn't show up at all. 14 shots. 17 hits.
Expected goals. 4.68---1.34 Looks like Kevin stood on his head.

Are they still running back the same group? 😂

All these comments about Forbort still swinging while the Wild guy stumbled to his knees. He got back up in one motion and fall on top. No referee around yet. Meanwhile, ref shows up, start to hold Forbort, in all likelihood yelling stop to the players, Forbort probably begins to restrain and gets sucker punched. If the ref doesn’t show up, you don’t take a punch in that position. You squirm out and roll. The Wild guy didn’t have him pinned. His right hand was on the ice balancing himself. Once he got balance, and Forbort stopped, and the ref sort of is beginning to tie Forbort’s arms up, he gets sucker punched. This isn’t MMA where the ref only shows up for a tap out. Hockey players throw punches standing up. And stop when the refs break in.

What was Forbort doing there?

Clean check on Hughes, just like Sherwood's usually are.

Trenin skating to bench at the end of his shift, the puck is down the ice.

Forbort waits for and then steps into Trenin with a high shoulder check, at center ice and the puck is in the defensive zone.

Forbort instigates a fight with a tired player at the end of his shift for hitting Hughes.
Even the announcers on TV state the same thing.

Forbort gets Trenin on his knees and delivers three shots aiming at his head, Trenin gets up and instead of a bear hug Forbort tries to keep standing. Forbort hits Trenin at least three times, upper cut and two to the side of the head, Trenin gets up and delivers one shot JUST AS THE LINESMAN gets there. While it is a "cheap" shot because the guy is already down, Forbort did nail him three times when he was on his knees.

If the players were reversed Forbort gets praise for protecting Hughes, he was for a bit on the tube.

Now the really interesting part, the 5 min major. That is an automatic call when a player on the bench gets involved with those on the ice. The "poke" of the stick is also a 5 min major called spearing, doesn't matter the outcome. Blueger should/could have been assessed TWO 5 min majors.

Good on Forbort for standing up for Hughes but if he played his position none of this happens. As far as cheap shots, watch Garland and Sherwood in other games, especially the slew foots. IMO way more dirty than getting a shot in a fight that was started by the guy that took the hit.

If this game wasn't in Vancouver I am sure "game management" would have come to a different outcome.

The end of the season sure has a lot of guys getting into fights, guys that never fought before. Coaching?

Are they going to get someone that's going to step up and do it? Lol

I know a lot was made of our response, or lack thereof, to each play - but in both instances the offending player was ejected from the game.

Someone will go at these two. My money would be on Kiefer Sherwood, at least for Dickinson - he was incensed.

Hell, if the Canucks bring Forbort back, he might go after Trenin himself.

I see someone has been into the bath salts.

Sherwood isn't really a fighter. Few and far between fighting these days.
