MacDermid just needs to keep working on his hockey skills and he 100% has a role on this team. Look no further than how Clifford has evolved from a meathead who took a lot of really bad penalties to a guy that they view as a core player. It just proves that if a kid works his tail off and tries to keep improving, he can make a spot for himself.

Sucks with what happened to Bennett there because he didn't look good coming out of it, but honestly looking over the replays it seems like a clean hit. Didn't leave his feet, no elbow, didn't look like head contact, wasn't too late. MacDermid is just built like truck unfortunately.

You and me both. That's the biggest issue I have. If he doesn't mesh well or you don't like how he plays or whatever, you trade him to a team that can better utilize him. Whatever it is that we're doing with him certainly doesn't entice other players to come here.

I read something about that possibly causing UFA's to reassess LA as a destination based on how poorly they have treated Kovalchuk. We will see I guess in the future.
