Mike Amadio is just Nick Shore and we'll be lucky if he's a 4th liner, etc.

Effing love this kid and I promise you he'll be a good leader 3C at least.

I love how some on here are so interested in knocking Wagner yet he keeps on ****ing scoring

The dude believes now and that's a scary thing.

he's been ****in solid man

like literally the only thing i can nitpick about his game at the moment is that he drifts kinda high when opponents cycle the puck from low to high but his head is always on a swivel so he recovers quickly

i like that he's made a few aggressive pinches and joined the rush a couple times too even though it hasn't amounted to much

I'll take aggressive, decisive mistakes over sitting back on heels and getting beat any day of the week.

Dude, I didn't even think it was that good.

That's a crazy stat considering their overall record.

Big Mac: Bad for the tank.

I'm 100% with you, though. There's an underrated, non-stat-captured effect of physicality in hockey period. The Kings were amazing when they pounded everything in sight and made you work for it, there's a reason 'more talented' teams just wilted. Now add a scary f***ing dude like MacDermid and not only are you going to get plowed by a guy who is a decent skater and going to leave his position to make you pay, but to get the puck back, you have to to try get through a 6'5" 230 lb wall. That wears on you.

I agree. Kings need that element. Like Greene or Mitchell.

They just play bigger when he's in the lineup.

I was pretty high on Amadio last season, he was really good for the Kings until Stevens started messing with his icetime to play stiffs like Thompson and he hit a funk.

But he has offensive talents that previous bums like Shore and Andreoff just couldn't provide on the bottom six.

Hell the Wagner-Amadio-Luff line was a pain in the ass until they decided to play complacent, overpaid, unmotivated veterans in their place..
as a 3rd/4th line they have everything you want... talent, hunger, youth, recklessness, aggressiveness and much more... what’s the baseline for that trio?? 40 goals, at least 75 points

Team goals per 60 minutes played, forwards at even strength, when player is on the ice. Higher is better, players is still in organization, 10 GP or higher

Amadio 3.2
Brown 2.7
Kopitar 2.6
Wagner 2.6
Brodzinski 2.4
Luff 2.4
Iafallo 2.3
Toffoli 2.3
Leipsic 2.2
Lewis 2.1
Kempe 2.0
Grundstrom 2.0
Clifford 2.0
Kovalchuk 1.9
Carter 1.9

I'm not sure how long it will take for the Kings staff to figure out that when Amadio plays, good things happen offensively. He makes players around him better. Amadio needs to improve his coverage and face-offs, but if you play him, good things will come. Not a top six, but he certainly can run the 2nd PP unit like he did in his rookie year. Maybe next year they figure it out.

To give you an idea about this statistic, every single forward with the exception of Cedric Paquette is 2.8 or higher on Tampa Bay.

I try not to get too hung up on rates in general because big, hard minute guys like Doughty and Kopitar get punished while guys like Colin Miller look better than Crosby but there's something really telling about a guy crushing his minutes in Amadio (which passes the eye test) and a guy drowning in his in Carter.
