The Blackhawks provide solid reassurance that if one of our stars actually gave a shit this year we'd still suck.

Willie Desjardins confirmed that Ilya Kovalchuk will remain out of the lineup. “He won’t be in tonight, but there’s a good chance we’ll see him here soon,” he said.
"You look at results, you find ways to win, and we’ve been winning a few games lately,” Desjardins said. “That’s kind of what we look at.”

Nice! So, since the Kings record without Carter is 3-1-2..only 1 loss in 6 games, a record on par with the Lightning, why is Carter playing?

Nah, I don't care who the coach is, or what the situation may be, either fire the coach, or let the coach do what he wants to do. It's the same thing with an owner/GM relationship. If you hire a GM, let him make the decisions. I don't remember Billy Beane or the A's actually winning anything in Moneyball because he undercut the manager. WD may be an empty suit, but if he's going to be there, you have to let him have the room. To whatever extent that's possible with WD and this mix of players.

for the most part i agree but said owners/GMs are the ones paying kovalchuk $6M+ a year yknow

they pulled the trigger on bringing him here and willie is (literally) wasting their money

I'd like to see the Kings use these games to give ice time Luff, Wagner, Brodzinski, Amadio.

So if you're going to bench Kovalchuk to make room for the aforementioned fine. Just bench Toffoli and Carter as well.

Toffoli had 21:10 of ice time last game! 5 minutes on the PP! What the hell for? Kopitar 25:50. Brown 24:57. I realize it was an OT game but these numbers are ridiculous considering the Kings situation.

This is an opportunity to play the young guys and evaluate and develop them.

Devils are 2 points ahead of LA. They are tied right now with St. Louis halfway through the third.

Yes! They lose in OT, but Mikey Anderson's brother, Joey, tied it up for the Devils...good to see FAM helping out!

And Ottawa broke the 2-2 tie against the Make Beliefs and went ahead, 3-2...and just scored empty netter to win! Now only 3 behind the Kings!

I knew the Kings recent 3 game win streak, would be devastating.

BELIEVE!

was that infographic calling kopi/brown/kane/toews 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th basemen??

Oh, I just remember another off ice failure from the Kings organization. Why the f*** did they roll out the same boring 50th anniversary jersey as the 3rds this season?
