If the Canucks lose in Dallas Tuesday night as expected, they're officially done. If they keep playing Hughes 25-30 minutes a night, there needs to be an investigation--cruelty to franchise players.

Quinn is apparently a -14 since the Four Nations break. You could see it on the winning goal. Karlsson took him wide, and he simply lacked that explosive lateral speed to cut him off. Something he'd have easily done earlier in the season.

No reason to risk further injury now--after Tuesday, shut him down.

Sadly, poor coaching often* resorts to simply overplaying the best players

It works for peanuts and peewee, but sadly it appears the NHL is a professional men's league made up of the best hockey players in the world, playing an 82 game marathon season in one if the most grueling of sports

The failure lies at the feet of Toccs, with heaping helpings of blame laid at the feet of management and "medical" staff

* and by often I mean virtually always

Bananas in the tree are still weeks away from being ripe, for one thing.

Not to mention bananas in the tree are likely being defended by angry (and probably knife-wielding) monkeys.

Those players are also ultra-competitive (...usually...) and I can't imagine Hughes wouldn't want to be trying to compete for a playoff spot, even if the odds are microscopic at this point.

Yes. It's why proper medical staff are tasked with the job of shutting them down

Like athletes were asked if they would lop 50* years off their life if they could be guaranteed winning an Olympic gold

Guess what they said?

* I know right? It wasnt exactly 50 years. Totally negates my point
