Fun, entertaining game from the Kings last night. It’s not in me to feel upset watching them beat the Ducks. I will admit I felt a tiny spark of joy when they went down a goal late in the third. And I was totally set for on OTL.
Great game from Kempe and Walker last night. They didn’t take shifts off and were around the puck all night. Kopitar and Brown were great also, but it’s during garbage time in a lost season and against the AHL players from the Ducks.
I liked LaDue’s game as well. It’s sad to see the guy obviously has his confidence shaken when you see how bad his stick handling has gotten. At least he’s being given some consistent minutes finally. Doughty played the most minutes but had no impact on the outcome. Brodzinski came out skating and gets rewarded with less than 9 minutes. I’m not saying he deserves first line minutes, but how hard would it be to take away some of Lewis and Carters ice time at this point. Especially with the weird, misaligned line up.
But given that the lottery competition all won last night too, I guess the Kings odds took the least, worst hit possible. They just have less games available to lose overall. They’ve still got a solid shot at catching Ottawa and games in hand compared to Detroit and NJD.
