Post-Game Talk: GM 73 | Blue Jackets def. Canucks | 7-6 (SO) (Raty x2, Karlsson, Boeser, Myers, DeBrusk) | Pain.

Winnipeg aren't going anywhere in the standings probably not playing with the same desperation, hopefully we catch them fat and happy.

Those picks were only going to be made by Jim Benning though. Every other GM in the league would have taken Nylander and Tkachuk.
Tons of GMS f*** up high picks. Is what it is. How many teams are kicking them selves after missing out on Quinn? Remind be again what pick Pastrnak drafted at?

I'm not going to cry over where we draft at next draft. Our off season moves is what will make or break this team. Team is still in a good spot next year.

This why u don’t sign a goalie 4.5Mx5 after 25-30 games lol

Personally was so against it but our boards have individuals who just enjoy carrying water for current management and don't think they can do any wrong.

By almost every metric, Lankinen has been average - he's -1.5 goals saved above expected on the season, goalies like him are always available and we just decided to pay him. For a team with the cap penalties we're facing + the contracts we gotta pay coming up, so incredibly short sighted to pay him based off 34 games of work.

I’d rather see them fight for their lives like this than just get their faces caved in from February to April and have guys like Hughes want to get the heck out.

We aren’t in a position to do a full tear down rebuild. We just aren’t.

I don’t think people realize (or remember, which is weird as it wasn’t long ago) how tough it is to go from a team playing for a top 5 pick to one that contends.

These games, while frustrating, are good for the long term development of the team. It’s tough to have perspective in the moment, but going through these games is way better than coasting down the stretch with a bunch of guys who don’t care.

No one learns from a loss where everyone just mails it in. Sometimes a season goes off the rails for completely unexpected reasons, like what happened in Vegas the year before they won the cup.

I’m way more positive now than I ever was during any of the Benning years, there’s still lots of reasons to have faith if you look for it.

They probably paid him because they just wanted to stabilize the backup position, and they really truly thought he could be a pretty cheap number one if they needed it

It honestly made sense that Quinn fell a bit, he's a "small body gentleman" as Burkie put it. Nobody expected him to be anything more than a Tyler Spurgeon level defenceman, let alone a superstar.

There was absolutely no excuse for Virtanen or Juolevi, they straight up just made dumb choices.

This one stings..... should have left with 2 points. Winnipeg next and Vegas twice, Dallas and Colorado.... team might just be finished.

Raty, Sherwood and Suter were fantastic tonight though.

I'm just so f***ing frustrated that we had an elite core and they couldn't get along. What other team would have that happen except for this team?
