  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I never thought in a million years when we had Horvat, Pettersson, and Miller a few years ago as a collective of centers.

that would be in a situation some years down the road where our 1st line center is Pius Suter

what a time to be alive

Dude were you here for the Benning years? This team constantly shat the bed all season just to screw up the draft position when the season was already lost, and nothing in the culture changed the season after. This is the same old story LMAO
Yawn.

I've been here since 94 my man.

And correlation isn't causation.

Just because we had teams in a hopeless cycle where our stars were all like 35+ and we were like the 3rd worst team in the league but would win meaningless games on the last weekend to pick 7th, has nothing to do with this team that has a young core with some good prospects (especially on D) and is currently 5 points out with two games at hand.

The quitter mentality on these boards is crazy to me. I guess it's, at its heart, a prospect forum.

But the number of people who don't seem to actually enjoy watching the sport of hockey but would rather watch nothing but draft picks and quitting is wild to me.

he's been great, but you switch their ice time/zone starts and competition, you'd change your mind pretty quickly. from what i've seen Myers takes many more dzone
Yeah a popular misconception of casual fans is to ignore useage, zone starts, and things like defensive positioning and gap control.

So they always scapegoat veteran D who play against top lines and do the thankless jobs of keeping the puck out of the net, while favouring 3rd D pairing types who play against non-threatening lines, often with good offensive forwards, and get to play more with the puck on their sticks.

With that said, I really like what I'm seeing from Mancini.

A guy with that size who can skate like that, has confidence and poise with the puck and doesn't seem afraid of the moment is a promising thing.

But if you suddenly gave him Myers' minutes right now? He'd get caved like almost any rookie would.
