Yeah Amadio is the odd man right out now unfortunately. He needs to fight his way back in.

4th line was dynamite last night. Especially Clifford. Why oh why can’t he do that more often.

Agreed, I think you can swap, Amadio and Reider right now, but even Pearson who has been brutal lately, played pretty good, no glaring giveaways, only problem I have with him is his hockey IQ is not up there, and he's not particulary hard on the puck

Especially with all the speedbumps in the way.

You have SJ at 83 and us at 81, but then to the WC, you have Dallas 82, Colorado 80 with a game in hand, Ducks at 80 a game behind, STL at 79(!), Calgary at 78 a game behind. It's a dogfight. And Minny is also at 85 so not like they're out of the woods either.

Tomorrow is as must-win a game vs. Arizona as ever existed.

6-3-1 in their last 10, one of the hottest teams in the league. Beaten SJ and Anaheim so we know it will be a squeaker. Tonight was probably bad practice.
And 10-3-2 in their last 15 even

He's not particularly soft on the puck, either. There's games where he's one of our better forecheckers. Kinda like Iafallo-lite. He does well on the boards, as well.

Agreed, he's not soft on the puck, but there's something about him that is just...meh, I'm here, yay, who cares etc, there's no urgency with him, last night he showed great patience, and he does have a solid net prescence while screening, but he has to be smarter defensively, etc, I think we see the same exact line up, but I'm not beyond switching Amadio and him, I think you get the same with Amadio, but more urgency

I wholeheartedly disagree. He is assertive on the ice, skates and plays hard, and has no problem adjusting his role. He's a high end swiss army knife. His shot was never amazing, but his IQ and hard, quick play creates his chances. I wanted 20 from him this year, too. He'll be that guy, Carts being out hurt his production, and to be fair, he did have several games where he disappeared. But that's fine with Tanner, as long as he keeps playing like he does in 90% of his games.

No way do I switch Amadio for him. I'd sit Clifford and Mitchell before Tanner, for Amadio.

Amadio does need back in the lineup. Clifford probably played himself into tonight's game with last night's performance (if it was ever in question w Stevens), tho. Tanner isn't going anywhere in favor of Amadio.

Pearson is the fiery, energetic winger a playoff team needs. Whether it's the 2nd or 3rd line, dude is money for the type of hockey we need to be playing here on out.

Clifford has been a great 4th liner recently and that line has been pretty much what you want from a 4th line.

I liked the Carter line last night. Some of you need to stop living in 2010 and check the goal scoring stats this season before you say putting Lewis with Carter is a waste of Carter. 22 and 10 played extremely well with Carter last night and they were a threat to blow out of the offensive zone on an odd-man rush at any time. Carter should have scored last night and Lewis looked to have one but a defenseman played goalie and blocked it.

I saw nothing last night that would make me want to stop with that experiment. That is the fastest line on the team while also being smart on the defensive side of the puck.

Amadio needs to play center. Don't see a C from last night I would sit, even with the back-to-back.

I haven't watched every game this season, but the ones I caught and I have caught most of the last ones, the debacle Saturday I had to turn off...but he isn't fiery or energetic, maybe he was at one point, but he's playing with zero passion out there, hes playing with zero urgency, I could care less if he scores or not, he did score a beauty and I gave him credit for that, but shift in, shift out, he's gotta skate his ass off and I'm not seeing it.....Toffoli showed more passion than Pearson has in the last few games

Disagree, I think Carter, Rieder and Lewis played alright for the first time playing together, they started to get some nice chances,

I think we see this lineup again tonight,

Isn't it painfully obvious by now that lineups do not matter for the Kings. Kings scoring is like forcing cats to do anything. They'll score when they want to score.

I've watched nearly all our games. My take away is that he plays with energy, uses his body, engages on the forecheck, isn't scared to go to the boards, go to the net, is the most physical player on his line... so yeah, we see differently. His shot is meh, his IQ is above avg. His motor is above avg.

Urgency. Urgency. Funny you mention Toff, that's been one of the biggest complaints with him this season (his play since Carts' return notwithstanding).

I know, so when I see Toffs playing "better" or with more urgency than Pearson, that concerns me, because Pearsons game is a rounded game, Toffoli is a scorer, he ain't gonna do much else, he ain't gonna bang, he ain't gonna dig pucks out, etc, he will do it, but hes looked upon to score, Pearsons game is much more rounded based, and I'm just not seeing it....now it could be, every game I watch, he has a bad game.....but man, that's too coincidental lol

I think it's just his production, man. If he had 20, this would be an excellent season for him. Since he doesn't, it's understandable that it's viewed as a down year. Still, I feel like he's doing so much more (as you alluded to, "much more rounded").

Lewis would face criticism in the past, (imo) stemming from his production. This year, Lewis is toast of the town.

LOL True, but I don't criticize or praise base off production, for example, Carter had a solid game last night, didn't produce, but he played well with Lewis and Reider, the 4th line had a GREAT game, probably better than the Kempe line, but Kempe line produced, but that 4th line was everywhere last night

Man, Kempe. He is so good with open ice, but he is not a f/o artist, nor much a playmaker (he has flashed, tho). Wish we could scheme him to the middle of the ice with Amadio still @ C.

All those lines were flying around the rink last night. I felt like everyone wanted to score, and felt they could :)

Yeah it's a real surprise all right...

NHL.com - Stats

Lowest GAA too, and 4th highest sv%, all career numbers, future HoFer, just gotta chase those Ws to be the greatest USA goaltender ever.

We're spoiled by Drew, Anze, and Jonathan, but some are too resistant to realize it. More important to stick to the hatred guns than acknowledge reality.

To add to Quick's numbers this season... he's got top 10 numbers for goalies who have at least started in 40+ games.

7th overall in minutes played and starts, 9th overall in wins, tied for 6th in shutouts, and 5th overall in SV%.

His SV% is significantly better than the likes of Price, Rask, Jones, Bobrovsky, Dubnyk, Lundqvist, Murray, Holtby, etc.

BTW, he's faced the 8th most amount of shots as well. There's a reason why the players polled in the NHLPA survey listed Quick as the second toughest goalie to score against. Yeah, he can put in his frustrating performances and hit a cold patch, but he's among the best goalies in the game more often than not.

Would love to see what his numbers are without the 'injured' stretch he had. Would probably still be in the Vezina conversation.

This is going to be the problem going forward. With his style and age, Quick is going to be injured more often. When he is on, he is great, but he isn't going to be on top of his game as often as when he was younger.
