Other problem is until the final unit got on the ice, there were several chips and chases....with no chase.
Dump and chase isn't inherently bad, in a game like this where they're clogging the neutral zone you can make the D turn and take hits. But you have to have the motor to start the puck battles. I just don't see it enough.

This team is going to need to find a hidden gear if they wanna have any chance at making the playoffs. It's not going to get any easier here on out.

The thing is baby, just look at this roster on paper right now, we have so many significant holes in our top six, it’s actually kind of crazy how we’re even in a playoff position right now.

I mean, it's Chicago. Good win but that's what we're supposed to do against the calibre of team.
Ill stick to it as always on TV. But for many many years I have no idea how or why people pay to see this in person
The fact we are even in a playoff spot right now despite the absolute clown show this season has been is impressive.

I dunno, how is it that much different? Miller has been good since being traded in terms of pure numbers but he sure wasn't doing that for us. Not surprising that he's basically having a honeymoon period, it fits his history.
It basically comes down to Chytil being out instead of Miller.

The good news is the D is genuinely improving and looking very good now and in the future. If Lankinen is the real deal going forward then they have a good backend to build from.

Well, with the way things go, even if we get into playoffs by some miracle we are still almost guaranteed to be annihilated in round 1.

We were one top six short to being a great team.
We traded JT Miller, who’s a superstar, and we replaced him with a pretty decent player, improved our defence.
But the problem is we lost Brock in that deal as well because without JT Miller, he’s been completely invisible.
It’s almost like we lost two top six forwards in one trade.
And now with chytil hurt, you can really see the depth being absolutely killed right now up the middle
