News/Notes:
  • Jeff Carter made his return to the lineup after being out for over 5 months. Carter played 17:36 TOI and registered 4 shots in his return while also winning 69% of his faceoffs.
  • The Kings remained silent on deadline day despite the amount of Habs fans wanting to trade Pacioretty for our 1st round pick and Vilardi and then subsequently telling us that Vilardi isn't as good as we think he is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  • In news that affects both the Knights and the Kings, the San Jose Sharks acquired left winger Evander Kane in exchange for a conditional 1st round pick, Dan O'Reagan and a 4th round pick.
  • The Vegas Golden Knights acquired Ryan Reaves from Pittsburgh in the weird Derrick Brassard trade and also got forward Tomas Tatar from the Detroit Red Wings.
While the Kings didn't make any deadline deals, the Kings made deals leading up to this week. Here's the outgoing/incoming players to sum up.

Outgoing: Nick Shore, Marian Gaborik, Jussi Jokinen, Mike Cammalleri, Darcy Kuemper

I would assume they are going to play Quick b2b since it being a division rival and all. Plus I don't have faith in Campell lol.
 
Oh goodie, Ryan Reaves.

I think Neal and possibly Theodore are game time decisions.

Need a big 60 minute effort tonight. Let's hope they come out prepared and ready to go.

There's no team in the league that consistently brings as much energy as the Golden Knights. They're always buzzing. That's a big reason why they've been so successful.

If you don't match their energy level it's going to be a long night.

I'm sure we'll match it the question is for how long 10 minutes? That seems to have happened lately way too much.
 
Blake pretty much put it onto the players shoulder's.

Blake on standing pat for trade deadline "We are in a position to compete for a playoff spot, it's up to the players to get in".
 
Pacific teams are 7-2-1 in LA this year. In 6 of the 10 games, the Kings have been held to 2 or fewer goals. When they score 3+, they're only 2-1-1. In 6 of the 10 games, they've given up 3+ goals.
 
Hopefully all the additions to vegas will upset their mojo. I think we're due a win aren't we. Nike
