Phaneuf is Dean's Gaborik deal. Buyout is in order for that. I believe Blake will be eyeballing D prospects at this point after trading Muzzin. The pipe is thin as you said - LaDue and Walker and Brinkley are not going to be top 4 from what i can tell.

Anybody who actually thought that this team was good and staying close in games should rewatch this game and it will convince you that this team is terrible. This was the most winnable game on our schedule for awhile.

It’s also worth mentioning that Dion Phaneuf was the only Kings player to have a -3 plus/minus today. That’s veteran leadership right there. High quality character the team needs more of.

Yep, that was a return to earlier on this year, now the aberration is showing a pulse for 20 games. Letting the Panthers run you over and showboat while doing so reeks of a lack of heart, fear of being shook out of comfort by the trade deadline, and general don'tgiveaf***aboutyourteam shit that needs to be purged ASAP.
I don't care if we miss the playoffs next year if it's all 24 and unders busting their tails, sweating, and learning. I can't even watch more than a period of the vets coasting around doing nothing but breaking sticks when they get embarrassed due to lousy effort as if it's a bad break.

* Quick got lit up like a Christmas Tree. While some were sloppy and lazy coverage :: cough:: Doughty on that 1st goal or Phaneuf just being a complete oaf on skates tonight, quite a few of those were stoppable - it’s like the rest of the teams effort leaked on to Quick’s.
* Kopitar trying to plead his case that he was fouled on that breakaway... so laughable. I think I’m most shocked about how far Kopitar’s play this season has fallen. ‘He’s a horse’ is no longer applicable. He loses every board battle and gets knocked off the puck every time
* Lots of trips not called tonight on both sides.... what game were the refs watching?
* Never thought Carter would be this bad, but he’s so, so bad. We couldn’t even get a 3rd for him at this point.
* Fantenberg still quietly good - only player to be a +1 today. He had a blantant trip in the 3rd I think, along with Leipsic in the 2nd that both were not called.

FYI, Kopitar wasn’t arguing about being hooked on the breakaway. The puck went out of play off Luongo, but they brought the face off outside the zone. That was the issue.

Yeah Fanta has really surprised me lately. Looked like a good 2nd pairing guy consistently.

I'm gonna keep this short, as this isn't the the draft thread, but I wouldn't object to Byram if they were to drop to say 6th (and the right players go 3-5), and their should be some viable at ~25 and/or that high 2nd rounder that figures to be #33-35.
I'm sure the draft nerds (myself included) will do in-depth look at the top few rounds once the playoffs start.

Rosen between periods said he doesn't expect much more until the draft. The only name he brought up was Lewis, . I'd take his word over Hovens speculation junk any day of the week.
