Was the 2nd period. He missed the rest of the period but came back and played a bit in the third. Tocchet was asked about it after the game and said he didn't think it was serious since Joshua ended up playing the rest of the game. Obviously it hasn't responded well since.

Some guy could lose an arm and a leg and Tocc will say "it's just a flesh wound" and not serious.

Tocchet is just trying to show the "panic"fans will spout with minimal information provided. He is laughing at the reactions showing the players the utter nonsense of social media and how easily it can be manipulated and how easily led around by the nose.

Enshittification is real. There was a time where Saturdays were sacred in Canada.

I remember the days where we would stay home and look forward to 3:30PM. CBC used to open up with the "The Place'll Be Rockin' 'Cause It's Saturday Night" song. They used to hype up the 4pm game by showing live clips from the pre-game skate while also showing an empty arena for the 7pm. No stupid betting segments or gambling ads. 4pm hit and CBC's iconic intro hit. You knew you were in for an epic night!

I miss the personalized and local feel from old school Sportsnet broadcasts. Everything now feels cookie cutter and bland.

f*** Rogers and corporate greed for ruining this experience.

This was epic:

Enshittification is indeed real, but if we're wanting personalized and local broadcasts, Amazon is not the answer long term (not saying you're saying that). They'll treat us well for a while and then strip the product bare and mine it for every last dollar available. They'll put the gambling odds right on the jersey or something, I swear to god. To hell with Amazon. And Rogers, too. And, well, everyone. Ha.

Enshittification should be the word of the decade at this point.

It's not only within media and entertainment but nearly everything else as well (fashion, household goods, etc). Everything is being run by a pricing algorithm intended to squeeze every last penny out for these companies' quarterly financial results.

No thanks......subscription fees for another phone app is a stealthy budget-killer. I mean I suspect people have so many subscriptions on their phone that automatically renew, they have no idea what they're paying every month.

I'd rather just listen on the radio and imagine what a win sounds like.

I am genuinely looking forward to another Amazon-produced game.

I hope they get the local-rights coverage after Sportsnet. They are clearly operating on such a shoe-string budget these days. It is a disservice to the fans.
Purely IMO, but this is what is being telegraphed by this NHL on Amazon nights. Amazon has deep pockets and is an extremely logical broadcast partner for the NHL.

And Rogers destroying local broadcast teams and local game coverage has really sabotaged the product. When Sportsnet had regional coverage - Canucks games called by John and John, a panel in the intermission that usually included some ex-Canucks, and immediate post-game coverage with Don Taylor and Dan Murphy - it felt like an evening dedicated to the Canucks.

Now all the intermission segments have Luke effin Gazdic and if we're lucky we get a few seconds of Canucks chat followed by "here's what's going on with the Leafs/Oilers/literally anyone else".

Prime trying to shove Mark Messier down my throat sucks big time - but at least the broadcast, from showing warmups to the post-game show, is about the game being covered. I liked it.
You're on the money.

In fact, the first step has already been completed. All non-nationally televised games for the Kraken are on Prime Video this season.

Forslund is the PBP guy, and no, they do not have to subject themselves to listening to Messier, who is only on the Monday Night Prime games.

The miserable season for Joshua continues.....he's back on IR, week-to-week.....will be forced to miss at least three games.

Obviously Lekkerimaki doesn't bring the same skill-set to the organizationally, but maybe he can unleash a few of his patented shots.

We need a prime game when Petey is back so we can analyze any warmup interactions between Petey and Miller
