too bad Captain Kopi does not have any fire, like DD and Quick.
Wish they could trade him.
Kopitar doesn't have to show fire to be a leader. He does have to be their best forward 65 out of 82 games though. Problem is that they have absolutely no leaders in that locker room. Quick might be the closest thing they have to a captain but he would never get on teammates nor is he vocal enough. Every veteran outside of Quick and Doughty are just showing up to get paid.

I don't know what everyone is upset about, Willie D is playing some god damn 4-d chess to get that Hughes pick. Leipsic and Thompson vs. Crosby in OT? LOL

The only guys on this team I know are genuinely pissed about losing are Drew--partially because he wants to make sure you know because he's over-dramatic, but partially because it's pretty clear he cares when throwing his body around--Brown, and Quick. Everyone else is either a total pansy burnout or just hanging onto an NHL job so they're not too mad yet (Like I can't REALLY fault Leipsic and Scherbak quite yet, you know?).

Let the bodies hit the floor.

Was kind of a fun back and forth OT but I knew they'd call a penalty as soon as someone breathed wrong in Crosby's direction and we ALL knew that goal was inevitable.

Ok, so the roadie was a sometimes entertaining 0-2-2, just about the best realistic result.

The Good
Iafallo, 5 pts in 4 games. Top all around player. Hot sister.
Luff, 2 goals. Finds open ice and scores goals. Got a beauty last night against crappy Matt Murray.
Muzzin, 2g 2a. Trade value rocketing.

The Bad
Doughty. -5, 1a.

The Ugly
Quick. Went 0-2-1. Faced 98 shots, let in 11 goals in 3 games.

I was also watching him try to handle the puck and looking like a junior B player doing it. It is very normal to have a case of nerves in his first game so I'll cut him a lot of slack.

Brickley looked like he had a new stick cut for him at a different length than he was used to.

I joined the Kings on the second half of the road trip, for Columbus and Pittsburgh. Both are great areans, would give the nod to Pittsburgh between the two. The 50/50 raffle was pretty funny. I think Pittsburgh ended up with $15k or so? Columbus barely cracked $4k :)

As for the game....at least the Kings pushed it to overtime. They really have to stop taking penalties, especially late in the game. Watching Tanner score....had to applaud. Great effort, nice finish. Poor Toffoli, finally puts one in the net and it gets called back. Also, what's with the Kings and can openers. I think Forbort sucks.....but everytime I say that outloud he scores. Also, Kopitar has no vision this season. There were a few chances that I recall where if he had looked up, Brown was cherry picking on the blue line for a breakaway. No one is really looking up the ice....just to the red line, maybe. I suppose it's much easier to see this further up then ice level :sarcasm:

I'm conflicted about Drew.

He's absolutely doing dumb ****.

But you can tell it's coming from the right place, and he's one of the only guys putting his body on the line night after night.

Have you seen the clip (it's a gif on twitter, I would add it here but dont know how) of doughty skating casually to the bench for a line change while the pens were in their zone? They scored during this sequence. Dead tired or not I was shocked as hell and its summed up thier season to a tee imo.

I'm not saying doughty is just going through the motions like most of the team, but this is terrible.

This is my inevitable position on Drew even after long stretches of disliking him.

He has that psychopath Jordan-esque streak in him where he hates losing more than he loves winning. All of his bullshit stems from that.

He’s at his best with a strong voice in the locker room who can tell him to can it when the going gets rough. Mitchell, Richards, Greene. All those guys carried Drew’s leash back in the day.

Could you imagine if Drew did that while Sutter was coaching the team.... hehe.
He wouldn't do that when he broke in with O'Donnell, and he sure as hell wouldn't do that with Scuderi and Mitchell on the team.

Not very good defense from Luff on that play either. I couldn't tell who did the fly by in the middle of the slot and waved his stick at the Pittsburgh player as he made his way to the slot. Probably was Kempe.
