Sorry its not a fleshed out GDT I'm just really stressed out at the moment and don't have the time. I will be ready by the time the game starts though. Go Kings!

Clifford, Martinez, Hagelin, Kovalchuk, Lewis, and Vilardi all out with injuries.

What a season.

Since Oct 20, Detroit has the 10th best record in the league. Only 1 point from 4th best. Most of those wins are in OT or the SO though, so, kind of a fake good team.

4 road games in 6 days. Guys dropping like flies. The Hawks finally suck more than the Kings.

They get back from this trip, and then they don't go further east than Colorado, or further north than SJ, until mid January. I'm sure they want to get these 4 games done as quickly as possible. Just get back home.

Ah, the mantra of losing organizations, man games lost to injury.

i am not blaming that on why the kings are 2nd last in the league. If they were just outside the playoffs I may be using it as a reason why they should be in. This team even with the injuries should be better but just are plain playing like dog shit.

Detroit is an experiment to see if it’s possible to retool on the fly with youth. They are bleeding off aging vets from the roster and giving minutes to kids. No real top end talent though.

I think Detroit is more of a full rebuild as they do not have the Zetterberg and Kronwall at early 30.

Something fishy about Martinez 'not being on trip'

Yesterday, LakingInsider posted 'GOOD MORNING DETROIT' and had a story...and no mention of Martinez not being on the trip.

Detroit/Holland is either too proud, or too dumb, to just tank. They'll accept if they have a bad year, as long as they're doing what they can to put the best possible team out there, within the confines of what the Wings now are, even if it's ultimately not a good team.

I have no idea if that's retooling, rebuilding, or anything else. All those buzzwords have been used so often around sports that you almost don't know what they mean anymore.

What's the deal with Martinez?

LAKINGSINSIDER update::::::::::
Injury Updates: Kings General Manager Rob Blake gave updates to a small group of traveling media this morning, passed along by Kings PR. Defenseman Alec Martinez and forward Kyle Clifford are both day-to-day with upper-body injuries. Defenseman Oscar Fantenberg took Martinez’s place alongside Jake Muzzin, while Paul LaDue slotted alongside Dion Phaneuf. The recently recalled Austin Wagner moved in for Clifford at morning skate, playing alongside Nate Thompson and Mike Amadio. Blake also noted that forward Gabe Vilardi, who was scratched from Saturday’s game with Ontario due to injury, will see a doctor this morning and an update on his condition is expected later today.

Yea, they embraced the rebuild this offseason because they grabbed Zadina with a top five pick I believe and didn’t sign any veteran free agents except Bernier and Vanek afaik.

And the Bernier and Vanek signings still seem odd to me. Bernier less so as I thought it meant they were dealing Howard. Still think Carolina should be knocking on the door for Howard.

And they didn't have to for any cap reasons. They're not tanking, they're just bad. They're surviving on OT wins, or else they'd be much closer to the Kings and Hawks. Like the Wings, the Kings aren't tanking, they're just bad.

We are supposed to be a lot worse than we've been. Most of us were expecting to be the worst team in the league after losing Zetterberg. Larkin and some other guys have proved otherwise thus far.

We get outplayed mostly every game still. If it wasn't for some good luck and really good goaltending, we'd be right down there with you guys.

Good luck tonight.

If we don't resign Green then good luck developing the young forwards on the roster... we would never have the puck. But yeah, it's a difficult balance between progression and tanking when you already have some core kids on the team.

Okay I'm done eavesdropping lol. Enjoy the game fellas.

LaDue playing and Amadio and Wagner on the same line?!?! Willie Desjardins must be reading my posts.
