How long do we have to keep pretending that this is normal? That "this is just how this team plays"" (re: the stretches of getting out shot badly and not getting many shots on net in games, period)? The Canucks are currently 4th last in shots per game, ahead of only Chicago, Detroit and Montreal. I predicted early in the season that, no matter the talent on this team, that they'd be bottom 5. We'll see where they're at by season's end but it's looking like more of the same as we saw in the second half of last season and the playoffs.

It's a feature of this group, not a big. Is it coaching? Is it the players? Who knows .... It's hard to pin down. I've never seen it from a talented team before.

One of their best games of the season, followed by what looks to be one of their worst--at least so far.

A team with post-season aspirations would never have been forced to re-sign a guy like Myers and give him three more years. But that's just the reality of the Canucks blueline.

Boston's 11.25M superstar whose name starts with a P: 3 points
Vancouver's 11.6M superstar whose name starts with a P: 0 points

Now would be a great time for Pettersson help us start the comeback...

Pettersson is absolutely a passenger. A very talented passenger, to be sure, but a passenger. That's how he plays. His saving grace is that he's so effective defensively. That's what staves off the passenger label somewhat.

This is their normal though. They played like this all last year and in the playoffs. I guess this is the system Tocchet loves - ride the PDO train and hope Demko can be Demko.

Pathetic strategy.
