The big reason we're last isn't necessarily coaching though. Look at the god awful defense we have. Especially now that Hronek is out. Literally nobody but Hughes can move thr puck up.

Like I posted in the Hughes thread. He has more points than every other defenseman on the team combined. We play so defensive because we have to.

The stats do lie. We’re 7th in scoring in the NHL over the past 2 years. We actually score goals but people are more interested in winning the corsi battle.

We’re one of the best coached teams in the NHL. It’s absurd.

I don't see why we can't criticize Tocchet? We rip into Pettersson, Myers, Silovs and many others but we can't the coach?

Tocchet has to improve as well and I don't see an issue in saying that. Whole team is out of synch and needs to be better. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that ...

This is the real issue. We need a proper top 4 defenseman not projects like VinnyD and Forbort. We spent far too much money on depth or project players instead of zeroing in on an actual need
