Debrusk especially benefits from having a point guy like Hughes. PP ran through Pastrnak in Boston and McAvoy doesnt exactly have the same shooting mentality from the point like Hughes does.

Absences at Practice
  • Forbort and Lankinen have the flu
  • Are staying away from the team and will not be in the line-up
  • Desharnais had it a bit as well
  • This is why yesterday was a day off
Line-Up Changes
  • Demko is starting
  • Brannstrom will take Forbort’s spot
Following-Up Last Game
  • Need to have the same attitude
  • Have talked about rushes and driving towards the middle
  • Playing against a desperate team and need to have the same approach
Heinen
  • Thought his best game was against the Panthers
  • Heinen practiced grabbed a couple of coaches and practiced 20 minutes early the last couple of days
  • Needs to work on his identity; what kind of player is he
  • A smart guy
  • Needs to keep building off the last game
Strategy
  • Need to commit to their play without the puck
  • Have great goaltending; stop putting them under duress
  • If you’re trading chances, then you need to convert
  • Canucks are not the type of team to trade chances, though
  • Forecheck was very good last game
DeBrusk
  • Is going downhill at the right time
  • Knew he was very good at tipping pucks but didn’t realize he was that good
  • DeBrusk wanted to concentrate on playing in the blue paint after his 1st month
Tocchet’s Time with the Bruins
  • An Original Six team
  • Got to hang out with Cam Neely at the end of Neely’s career
  • Getting a chance to play with Adam Oates
  • Incredible place to play
Sherwood
  • Signed him because he’s a pain in the ass in the playoffs
  • Brings an attitude
  • Sometimes you need a guy to wake your team up when they are sleeping
  • Has to be calculated with his hits
  • Sometimes wants to hit so much he can pull himself out of position
  • Rather he remains aggressive
  • Hard to tell him to back-off; he’s wired that way; likes that about him
Hughes
  • Has had a tough time eating
  • Hasn’t missed a beat after getting high-sticked and wearing a mask

Lindholm is having a miserable season in Beantown
Zadorov hasn't met expectations either

Canucks dodged a bullet with these guys

We sold them expensive queer giraffes & kept the cheap giraffe for ourselves.

Beantown can rot in hell.

Lindholm is having a miserable season in Beantown, and is now on the shelf with an injury. And Zadorov just hasn't met expectations either.

Canucks dodged a huge bullet with these guys. They got what they needed out of them in the playoffs last season--but that was 'then', this is 'now'.

Lindholm got paid and dipped, Zadorov was supposed to be the next great Bruins defensemen but he’s turned out to be a dud.

Lindholm can’t drive a line, he needs wingers who can produce. Pasternak is probably fed up with his bullshit.

Young male giraffes that aren't actively mating are almost exclusively homosexual, and gay sex accounts for the majority of observed instances of sexual contact among giraffes.

How has Zadorov been a dud? He's playing hard minutes and keeping his head well above water, has been their best penalty killer and is a tone setter physically. He's earning every dollar of his pay cheque.

Lindholm was a disaster waiting to happen (cap wise) and it shouldn't be surprising to anyone who watched him here last season.

Around the time the Canucks first played the Bruins this year they had a beat writer from Boston on with Drance and Dodd and he pointed at Zadorov taking an excessive amount of dumb penalties as a reason why he wasn't endearing himself to the Bruins. Don't know if that's still the case though.

PIMs are elevated for sure. Not really a new thing for him though.

I didn't even want to bring him back, but Zadorov has been pretty good for Boston this year.

We still definitely won the free agent swap on account of Lindholm being awful.

I think Zadorov has been pretty good of late. Lindholm on the other hand…
From what I understand, the Canucks actually made an effort to bring back Zadorov, and weren't too far off in terms of the money. But it was the 'term' that proved untenable.

But if the Bruins continue to falter and start wanting to shed salary, could you see Zadorov one day returning to Vancouver? Sometimes a player and a franchise just 'mesh'. And Zadorov was not only effective on the ice, but in the dressing-room as well.....and the fans loved 'Big Z'.

To be fair, I think Zadorov would have worked out fine here. Boston plays a much more high event style that doesn't work for him. That being said, I wasn't all too keen on 5M for an average #4 but a very solid #5. Much as I loved Zaddy.

Lindholm though, was always going to flounder imo. He hasn't been a first line center in years yet Boston paid him like one. Even at 7M, I'd have been... less than thrilled retaining him. Nearly 8M though? That's just a colossal waste of money.

Just putting this out there

Linholm: 3-10-13 in 31 games played at 7.8M
Suter: 11-6-17 in 27 games played at 1.6M
